With the help of Vista I was able to get these Pewter Rings for Mk1 GT  6 dial dashes for my Twincam from the UK. Ever since I have owned it the silver paint had been worn off so when I saw these online I thought they would be a nice touch albeit a bit expensive. Bizarrely they seem to match the fake wood and metal trimmings on the doors and dash of my Australian Twincam which is part of the "Deluxe" option.

You can even temporarily mount them with tape and remove them for polishing as needed. The silver paint that Ford used always was a bit of an inexpensive option that wore off easily and these really refresh it with a more ritzy classic feel. Very happy with the results.

Looks good.........not sure about the steering wheel though, is it an Australian aftermarket wheel?

Its an after market wheel that came with the car when I bought 25 years ago. Its not Australian though its an Italian Luisi wheel. Its torture on the hands on a Australian summers day, so much so I kept driving gloves in the centre console.

At one time I went to change it out for this wheel which I still have.

The Momo is a magnificent wheel but I never fitted it. The thumb notches make the wheel look too modern and not for an older classic. I also never got a boss for the Momo. Where the Momo wheel has a bolt holes at 12 o'clock the Luisi has them at 10 and 2 which if I used together it would then not align with the indicator cut out. I figured to drill a new hole for that into the boss or just find another boss altogether. Since I had doubts about the Momo wheel looking right I never did anything about the boss to date. One day I will find a wheel that grabs me hopefully.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it :-)

Our Twincams never came with a wheel like that. I would probably find it too spindly to grip as well. I do prefer a chunky wheel especially when using a quick rack.

Australian Twincams were given a wheel which appears to be the same as your Mk1 Sports.

But I must admit to not being fond of it either. Its not really sporty or iconic looking.

The Luisi wheel that came with the car does stand out a bit when you look at in context of the close up shots but its wood is very orange in colour and when viewed as a whole does blend it better when seen with an orange car.

With the dash rings refreshing things up a bit I certainly am encouraged to look for something else in the wheel department soon.
