72mk1escort Posted March 14, 2017 Report Posted March 14, 2017 Would anyone be able help me out I have a 1972 mk1 escort which has front suspension legs from a 1300 1972/1973 escort estate they are the early P16 type calipers I'm after caliper and disc locking tabs and some people say the m16 caliper type kits fit my set up to. could anybody confirm this for me or if not point me in the right direction to the correct lock tab kit.
72mk1escort Posted March 16, 2017 Author Report Posted March 16, 2017 Can anyone help? I may have to take a gamble and order the M16 type caliper lock tab kit and hope for the best
Admin Vista Posted March 16, 2017 Admin Report Posted March 16, 2017 Pretty sure I just used Nyloc nuts on mine.
72mk1escort Posted March 16, 2017 Author Report Posted March 16, 2017 I could just use locktight which would do the same as nyloc I guess. I just wanted to try and put back what was originally fitted.
deltamal Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 Retro bolts on ebay, complete with new bolts, item no. 161477894538 £10.99 per set.
72mk1escort Posted March 16, 2017 Author Report Posted March 16, 2017 I'll give them a go as they supplied me with the stainless pistons and seals for my calipers
meXEco Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 Shouldnt the lock tabs be the same-isnt it just the bolts that are different? Same spacing on the caliper mount holes but different threads in strut?
