Yellow Perril 2 Posted June 25, 2017 Report Posted June 25, 2017 Hello All, I'm pleased to managed to got past the gate-keeper and become a member this very interesting forum. I'm here because a recently bought a fairly decent Escort MK1 1300XL (nagging ambition since I had a MK1 back in the early 80's) to bring back to a nice condition, to work on with one of my lads who is currently 15 and will hopefully drive this as his first car!!!! There's not too much urgent to do but we're going through the engine first just ensuring everything is up to scratch. Brakes next then some bodywork... In the body work first some new sills, then I'm not happy with the location of the front wings ...both about 10mm too far forward? Finally a few rust spots and tidying of the Datona Yellow, new rubber seals and she's ready to go. Once nicely up and running, we'll just keep making a few improvements to make condition excellent (its not that bad as it is). Just for info other vehicles currently in the fleet, Chrysler GV, Jag X-type, Vauxhall Omega 2.5 Scoda Fabia and 1981 Bedford CF Camper... (bit short on space and other nice machines had to go).
