I used my mate's gasless mig to see how it compared a few years ago. From what I remember it wasn't too bad on 1-1.5mm, can't really remember for the thick stuff. Might not have been so good.

if you want a good finish use a tig welder, but theyre a pain to learn to use! if you can work it the finish looks the nuts.

Aren't they expensive. Can I use them with small gas bottles?

yeh i went off and looked has well very cheap for what they are think better to go middle range on one for the amount of welding i do i dont need some great big thing

gasless migs were designed for working outside, they are also a higher current rating to start, and as a result tend to just blow holes in car panels

horses for courses, but for a car, stick to conventional gassed mig, or as said, if you can, TIG

Go for gas mig u can hire argon light bottles don't worry bout tig it's difficult and it's harder to fill gaps if ur not good at it :-) mig gas all the way :-)
