Fozzy48 Posted January 26, 2018 Report Posted January 26, 2018 Well the capri axle I got for my RS2000 is finally finished and ready to install. We did a dry run to test the handbrake cable on Wednesday and welded brackets on. I've since painted it up and fitted the discs, calipers and pipes which were kindly made by Colr6. Since its off I'm gonna take the leaf springs off, clean them down and paint those too. Well I might aswell while I'm at it. The cosworth handbrake cable I got seems to work as it should and is the perfect length with me thinking I may have to cross it over at the back to loose some length. I'll update with more photos as I install it. Fozzy 2

Fozzy48 Posted January 30, 2018 Author Report Posted January 30, 2018 Well I did more work today on the axle. I fitted it to the car incl handbrake cable. Need to put a new tramp bar poly bush on as yet and connect the brake line up and bleed. In the meantime I put the wheels on and lowered it to see how it will look and I am well pleased. I bought a new radiator aswell, so that needs fitting too. Fozzy 1

After years i made it narrow , by using the pipe`s/tube`s from a 1,3 mk2 and did use the 3,0 3.09 and later 3,22 and the moment a 3,44 diff and let the half shafts made shorter. And what is in this a 3,44 / 3,22 / 3,09 ? ,,,,,,,,,,, and there are others ones. 1

ATB Fozzy The 3.44 is a 2.0 one , 3.22 is a 2.3 one , 3.09 is a 3.0 one , i think the 3,75 is a little bit to short , i think the 3.44 is the better choise with some more power than the standard 110 HP. It`s also depends were you use the car for.

I cant wait to get it out of garage to have a proper look. A bit of a lazy day today but back on it tomorrow. Admin Vista Posted January 31, 2018 Admin Report Posted January 31, 2018 I have a 3.22 in mine, it was used in the early mk1 3.0 Capris over here. The axle was originally built with a 3.75:1 but with 350bhp on tap, it was way too low geared.

I will believe that , mine choise would be the 3.09 thats the one want to have back in mine axle , also i have the low tyre`s on the 13inch rs.

Just been tightening all bolts up on axle once wheels are all equal. Put new rad on but forgot my keys so couldn't bleed the water system. Took old headlights off to put new ones on but got a bit of work to do on bezels. Hopefully bleed brakes tomorrow and get headlights on. Fozzy
