alanc Posted February 3, 2018 Report Posted February 3, 2018 Can anyone help,with my gearlever,,as you can see there appears to be something missing on the lever like a moulded dome part, that would keep the screw cap attached to the lever This is out of a 1969 2000GT Capri and a Type 3 gearbox I believe Is there a part I can get,or do I need another lever ?

Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted February 3, 2018 Moderator Report Posted February 3, 2018 Yes the nylon ball piece is missing. Its probably in pieces in the end of the extension housing. They literally turn to powder with time. When mine last failed I have to drive home in second and vacuumed the powdered remains of it out as it had disintegrated. Someone said their were replacement kits available but I never found one. I ended up buying one of the complete replacement all metal gear levers.
