I like the smell lol its a Feu Orange traffic light air freshener all the cars I went in in the 70s/80s smelt like it it just brings back all those memories

have you noticed how valeting companies and service centres now have notices up for you to remove all air fresheners before dropping the car to them, or they wont work on it, even had the sign in the mot centre I have to take my truck to

just a tad odd, seen it in loads of places since though

As for the MOT thing.

If its hanging down from the centre mirror and impeeding view in the swept area of the wiper blades (over 40mm) its a failure.
