Can anyone tell what size a x-flow engine out of a Spanish built mk1 Fiesta would be from these numbers on the block?

Always thought the last 2 letters denoted the engine size?

It’s either a 957cc or 1100cc engine. It’s not xflow but a Valencia. 957 can be either a low compression or high compression.

No, year and month of manufacture, same as the VIN.

So a 711m6015aa is 1300. 711m6015ba is 1600.....

yes but an 1100 is aa but a shorter stroke

So on the theory of same bore size but the stroke alters the cc. Then you should be able to tell by possibly the depth of the lug on front of block between the w/pump and block face if it's like the early crossflows ? That's  if it has one of course.
