Mk3 cortina advice needed!

Hey there I'm refurbing a mk3 ford cortina and stuck between 2 engines, the 2.0 blacktop or the boa

Has anyone done any of these conversions and if so can you advise as to the pros and cons of each? 

Currently leaning toward the blacktop so if anyone has any advice on what gearbox would be best as well as the best rear end with Isd because hopefully by the time I'm done she'll be sitting between 150 and 200 bhp

I think the mk3 Cortina suits a torquey V6 in the engine bay.

Hi the bda/g will cost a fortune compared to a Zetec but you can get a lot more bhp from the bd

I was assuming he meant the Cosworth v6 BOA from the mk3 Granada

Yeah I was meaning the cosworth tho they are likes hens teeth and very pricey

Ah my mistake thought it was a typo ,still hard to get though new crate zetec would be cheaper

Black tops definitely seem cheaper and by all accounts with a little tuning you can get about 200 bhp out of them
