MK 1 dash switches

Need LATE  mk1 escort headlight heater and wiper switches please , I’ve put a later loom in and my early switches are wired for positive earth .  Thanks

Confused The switches themselves aren't any different are they? They dont care which direction the current flows through them.

Early switches are still neg earth unless they've been modded?

Don’t know , I was told by the man that’s wiring my car because  it’s a 68 escort with the wide bigger switches that they are wired positive earth , BUT , if I can find the three switches I can take the back part off of the late switches and connect to the front of my switches then I won’t have gaps either side of the switch in the dash

Early switches are quite a bit wider

Switches are NOT polarity conscious. They are only an elaborate make/ break connection. If your man thinks they are then would suggest a fire extinguisher at hand,....you may need one!!!

Yes they are physically different in terms of fit, but electrically they do the samd job whether positive or negative earth. Think of them as valves that are either open or closed and when opem can allow liquid to flow in either direction

Ok thank you , one thing after another with this wiring , been two years waiting for this , wiring mans coming on the 30th oct to wire up the new loom,

I'd be wary then if he's wiring the whole car....
