Just burnt my Black and Decker sander out prepping my landing, passage and stair walls for paint next weekend.

Looking to buy a new one tomorrow to finish the last bits off. Prefer one that I can use in the garage as well on small bodywork jobs if needed.

What have you guys got and would recommend?

I used to buy the cheap Chinese ones from the Auto Spares and the plastic gear workings would just shatter. After three of these I thought I had almost spent the same as a good brand so just look at the bigger names and went with a Japanese Makita they offered a larger range of tools like powerfiles that alot of companies did not. It never broke in the same period I have previously used up three and still works properly to this day. Lesson learned,Never skimped on power tools since. What I have noticed though in every British show where someone is fixing something with a powertool is they always use the DeWalt brand. I'm guessing that one of the premium tool companies there. Never seen Makita on any shows so maybe brands have a very regional presence. Probably related to different voltages.

Haha the missus would be well happy with me dragging a compressor into the house. ?

It has to be electric so I can use it for decorating as well.
