Wessie Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 it would just be nice to have wheels the same age as the car and not 3 yrs newer than when the car was registered. I guess thats a bit anal myself really? yes IMHO sod how old the wheels are, if they look good - GET THEM ON !

shortie Posted March 3, 2007 Author Report Posted March 3, 2007 funny you should say that, i bought it and don't even know if it runs!! It will when i've worked my magic on it but until then, as far as i know it may not even have any pistons!! fook thats a scary thought. lol

ratman Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 it would just be nice to have wheels the same age as the car and not 3 yrs newer than when the car was registered. I guess thats a bit anal myself really? My car is a 1966 and the wheels made in 2004 38 years newer than the car
shortie Posted March 4, 2007 Author Report Posted March 4, 2007 yeah i know, i was just gutted after scraping layer upon layer of paint off to find that they are wheels from '85!!
shortie Posted March 4, 2007 Author Report Posted March 4, 2007 as promised i can now post some pics of said wheels..... How they started..... This is the '81 cast wheel..... And now the '85 cast wheel..... And as you can see from the base of the spoke to the edge of the rim is less than 2cm's, What are these wheels for cos my way of thinking is they are too small for Capri Laser wheels?.....
shortie Posted March 4, 2007 Author Report Posted March 4, 2007 I did write down all the figures that are cast on the rim, let me go and get it, someone may be able to shed some more light on it!!
shortie Posted March 4, 2007 Author Report Posted March 4, 2007 Right.... inside one spoke is the ford logo, in another is the casting date, in the 3rd is cast - 80FBAA and in the last is - 6J13H2E32 This mean anything to anyone?

Fiesta Steve Posted March 4, 2007 Report Posted March 4, 2007 80FBAA is 100% Mk1 Fiesta SuperSport wheel. Not sure about the '85' wheel but appears to be of the same design. Is it the same off-set (E32)
shortie Posted March 4, 2007 Author Report Posted March 4, 2007 good info but didn't list my wheels!!
shortie Posted March 4, 2007 Author Report Posted March 4, 2007 both the '81 and '85 wheels have the same casting numbers. both same offset too.
