I have seen a brand of rear view mirrors appear all over the place for older British cars from Jags to MGs called Magnatex. An English company it seems who manufactured in the UK. Alot of the second hand ones seem to de-laminate around the outside but so does most of the older mirrors of that vintage. The Australian mirror setup is completely different to that of European Escorts in that it adheres to the windscreen but one of the Magnatex variants may be able to be to be able to serve as a replacement (By purchasing and extra Ford fitting) since new Ford ones haven't been seen in decades. There are some new Magnatex ones available here in Australia but are very expensive like around 150 quid equivalent. So if I'm going to spend that sort of money for a non original mirror I was wondering what the quality is really like for these things? Some of you may have encountered them over the years in other British classics. Any votes in favour or against?

I think they are one and the same. I saw some of their mirrors referred to as Tex as well.
