Quico Posted August 30, 2019 Report Posted August 30, 2019 I'm really pissed. Bought from stage 1 motorsport on February my escort mk1 1/4 bumpers, brackets and chrome bolts, at the time the car was getting body work and respray at the paint shop so when these arrived they were stored until now. Last weekend I was about to install them and I've notice that I have two left side bracket instead of one for each side. Immediately on Sunday, I sent an ebay PM explaining the thing, added some pictures but until now, nobody replied. Last Wednesday sent an email, again explaining everything with pictures but again, nobody replied. Phone doesn't seem to work, at least on mine (international) Does anybody knows them and can help me out? much appreciated.
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted August 30, 2019 Moderator Report Posted August 30, 2019 I have had no trouble buying things from him but whenever I try to converse about items specifically I always have trouble getting replies too unfortunately. Someone on the forum knows him personally and has visited his shop but I cant remember who it was, hopefully they will see this thread and chime in.
OSF Contributor Mexican Gerbil Posted August 30, 2019 OSF Contributor Report Posted August 30, 2019 Hes a one man band set up i believe and can be very difficult to pin down. I'm sure he will sort this out but getting hold of him may be an issue. @meXEco are you still local to him?

I have been down there but hes a little too far to just pop in.
notenoughtime Posted August 30, 2019 Report Posted August 30, 2019 I normally get a reply from him, and do know him when he was based in Essex many years ago I can give him a call if you want?
meXEco Posted August 30, 2019 Report Posted August 30, 2019 Not seen him for a while-he can be very tricky to get hold of tho due to him being very busy. But 6 months is quite a bit of time to spot a mistake-not making excuses i'm sure you'll get it sorted he's not the sort of bloke to mess people about.
notenoughtime Posted August 30, 2019 Report Posted August 30, 2019 Would it be worth sending the item back? With a letter?

Bought and paid on February but took more than a month to arrive, items on back order. Don't get me wrong, top quality items, just a mistake sending two left ones. At the time I received it, I opened the box, count the items, put it back in the box and stored it away, I believe I even gave him positive feedback. Anyway, 6 months is not a "so long period" I have parts stored for more than 4 years, bough my escort 9 years ago and I'm being collecting parts since then. Stevieg Posted August 14, 2020 Report Posted August 14, 2020 Did this issue get sorted? If so how and if not what is the current status? i ask because I have bought the same brackets and bolt kit for my Escort and although it hasn’t been that long I just would like confirmation that the items will be sent. I am in Australia and paid via PayPal. I have contacted Trevor in several ways without reply and only seen this post when I started to look online for issues. any update would be appreciated.
Huge Posted August 14, 2020 Report Posted August 14, 2020 My experience is like many other peoples - good quality items received but sometimes poor communication with seller. With your location post can take a long time anyway & dare I mention an added delay due to covid 19 - my belief ....hold your nerve they will arrive 🤞oh & please keep OSF updated 🤔
Stevieg Posted August 14, 2020 Report Posted August 14, 2020 Thanks for the reply. I realise that they will probably take a bit more time due to both location and Covid. What I was trying to get was a confirmation that he has been paid and the items will be sent. another strange thing was, I placed my order and then noticed I could register with the seller. I then did this and when I look at my account, then orders, it states that I haven’t made any?? I will update later with a conclusion.
Quico Posted August 14, 2020 Author Report Posted August 14, 2020 No, never answered me. Went to a local guy and he "twisted" the bracket the other way round. Then I had to powder coated it again.
Stevieg Posted August 14, 2020 Report Posted August 14, 2020 Oh dear. What a pain. I can only wait now and see what happens. I will no doubt have the quarter bumpers sitting and no brackets for a while. Will update much later no doubt.
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted August 15, 2020 Moderator Report Posted August 15, 2020 Trevor is reliable in his supply to Australia just that his communication is the exact opposite. I managed to get a reply once to engage in a conversation about his Twincam stuff once but that conversation never ended it just stopped half way through. Prior to the Wuhan Wally Virus I was getting some things from the UK in 4 days, now that's a minimum of 4 weeks. Often 6 weeks. (and if its DVD it will never get here, I have had 5 go missing so far so someone in the postal system is watching alot of movies).
Huge Posted August 15, 2020 Report Posted August 15, 2020 I bought 2 items from Australia during UK lockdown each took 4 weeks to arrive great NOS 👍

They laughed when I told them and said they couldn't get things sent within the UK that fast. I said it was the same here it takes longer to get something to another state than internationally here. @Stevieg if you need the brackets in a hurry you could also try them. No one else will be able to get them to you any faster and they always reply to enquiries. 1
Quico Posted August 15, 2020 Author Report Posted August 15, 2020 Bought a seat-belt on ebay 1/08, arrived on 11/08... not bad. I've seen worst before covid.

Not needing them in a hurry but just wanted confirmation that they will be getting sent as I have paid by PayPal already. I have also bought from Motorsport Tools and service was excellent. 1
notenoughtime Posted August 16, 2020 Report Posted August 16, 2020 Trevor normally only posts stuff on a Tuesday if I’m right, if you bought it last week I’m sure you’ll be fine
