what engine paint do you use that does not flake off ....has so far every one ive used flakes off...last one i used was Foliatec Engine Paint Kit £25 and its flaked

i suppose that B&Q stuff....does it stand up to high temps

Prep is the key to get it to stick on.

 

Mines been on two years and not a single piece has flaked.

way to much effort and it will always get dirty drop some hamerite on it

I used rattle cans to do the rocker cover on mine, no problems with flaking at all. Just make sure you get all the oily crud and any rust off.

Get the old stuff off with paint stripper or a wire brush bit in an electric drill, then get some decent heat/oil/fuel resistant paint and splash it on.

 

I think Frost do some & in genuine Ford colours too

 

I've got a block that's had the same coat of paint for 7 years & it's only now that I'm re-doing it.

filthy job to clean things but gets good results

Engine paint for iron blocks,ive had excellent results with brush on smoothrite in blue/black/red before, the only place it wont work is around the exhaust ports.

steel or ally just polish it up .

any pressed steel parts should be blasted and either pollished or use spray on paint.

the lazy b,stard route is a good clean and satin spray the lot.
