Has anyone got any type two gearbox spares they want to get rid of.??? Mainly what I need at the moment is the layshaft as in photo. I’ve depleted all my s/h stocks now helping others. Usually the parts come from donor boxes that are sent to me to rob bits out of to hopefully make a good one at the fraction of the cost. I don’t make money out the parts they’re just used to save cash for the owner. ( usually forum members ) As it stands I need three layshafts and as these are no longer available s/h ones can be used if any good The shaft is generic to 11/13 and 1600 type 2 boxes all the same. Any help would be appreciated

On another avenue do we have any engineers who could make them but they would need to be hardened as two needle bearings run on it.

Just thought of another option, if someone has some parts and need a box building. I don’t mind swapping my time for parts 🙃

I got a box here m8...

Not used it myself but lent it to a mate to put in his mex while he rebuilt his. Got a "whine" he told me.

You're welcome to it if I can get it to you

there is a couple of variations on tail shaft housing but generally they’re all the same.

Any parts for the type 2 are good. No one wanted them as they are made of butter and won’t take power very well so everybody chucked them in the bin. Aftermarket parts were never a big thing for these apart from bearings and seals. Now they’ve come back on the scene as people wanting originality the goods ain’t there So it’s a case of make and mend.
