mk2 escort boot lid badge question

Hi all . 

I will be fitting an early style boot lid to my escort, ie the lid that has F O R D in letters by the boot lock, my question is which escort script badge is correct for that early style of lid ! 

Top one or bottom one !!

The other one I am sure is for FWD models

Sorry its not actually.

The Top one is for Mk2s 77-80

The Bottom one is 75-76 and goes with those that have the F.O.R.D lettering under the boot lock. Most were chrome however but the same seller offers both and the individual letters as well in chrome and black.

They are Ford officially approved replicas and are of high quality and the seller very reliable.

I thought as much !! I have got a repo FORD letter front grill to go with the early boot lid , i was just unsure which badge to use . I think i will order a set before his prices go through the roof 😁

Looking through my pic collection it seems all RS models only came with Black Escort badges except Black cars where Chrome was used. All other 'vanilla' Escorts used the chrome version. The F O R D letters were particular to early Escorts 76 on and into 78 with the RS range trim crossover occurred - Broadstripe / Thin stripe etc. Again letter colour Black / Chrome follows the RS / Not RS convention.
