I was going through some old photos the other day and came up with a few of this Mk1 Escort. I'm the bearded one in the left hand seat. Won a few trophies in it between us, thrashing round the lanes of Cumbria/Lancashire/Yorkshire.

He was an awesome driver, but he had a freaky thing about going through water, every time we approached a ford he'd undo his seatbelt 😁

It started life as a 1300, but we slammed a 1600 GT in it and whacked some Mexico front wings on it. There were 5 of us living in a house in Lancaster at the time and 4 of us had Mk1 Mexico's. he sold an immaculate Olympic blue 72 m plate to buy this car......

Needless to say, we lost our deposit when we moved out 😂

Haha, I shouldn't laugh at this, but I can just picture it. 

We had 2 houses out on rent years ago. 1 guy had an immaculate Orion and always dressed well, but kept pit bulls in 1 of the bedrooms. When he left, I withheld his deposit to pay for new floorboards because of all the sh1t ingrained on them. He then wanted to fight me for his deposit back 😂.  

Another guy owed me 3 months rent on another house, but seemed to have enough money to go to Spain for 2 weeks with his missus and kids. I changed the locks while he was away and sold his car and pushbikes. His missus was going bonkers on the phone when they came back and thought he'd paid the rent. 

I did let her back in for a month though as she dropped the arrears in at my parents house, as I was living away from the area most of the time. I denied knowing anything about the car, as I was a proper "C U Next Tuesday" as a younger version of me 😂

Sold both houses about 12 years ago as renting is a proper pain if you get a wrong un in there. 

Gearboxes though, I'd have probably been in there with you 😁
