Scortedvan Posted July 2, 2021 Report Posted July 2, 2021 Hi All, I hope you are all well! Just a quick one, I purchased an OMP Corsica steering wheel for the escort the other day to replace my Springalex one (its too deep for me really). I need to get a boss, but looking online, I cant see if they have the notch in back for the indicator self cancel bush to align in, most only show pictures from the front. I really want to retain the self cancel as it the sort of thing that irritates me when it doesnt work, so does anyone have any advice for a boss that would suit? Thanks in advance for any suggestions you have - also if anyone has one for sale let me know! Kind Regards Joe

Most of them have the tab broken off. I noticed mine was broken when I fitted electric power steering. If yours is still whole, it might be worth getting it 3d scanned incase you ever need one again, as they are difficult to find. 1
Scortedvan Posted July 2, 2021 Author Report Posted July 2, 2021 Yeah mine still works incredibly well believe it or not, hence why I would like to retain the function - knowing I've fitted something that prevents it working would annoy the hell out of me, enough to just keep using the Springalex wheel! Good cal on getting it scanned, I had no idea they were difficult to find. 1
Xp197777 Posted July 2, 2021 Report Posted July 2, 2021 I have a omp on my Mk2 and it does cancel the indicator

Ive been waiting for someone to make a machined bronze one that doesn't split. A number of years back when roundabouts became the norm they passed laws that you had to indicate left when you were exiting the roundabout even if you were turning right. The net effect of making a right hand turn and forcing the indicator to signal left kept splitting the cam until I could no longer find replacements. One day I saw the Police not bother to signal left to exit a roundabout so I though stuff this and stopped doing it. I thought if they ever try fine me for not signalling I would take a few split cancel cams to court and tell them to eat that! 1

Both their Mk1 and 2 Bosses have cam cancellation notches cast into them. What initially drew me to the brand was that it offered two set of holes for Momo with top screw at the 12 o'clock position as well as a set for other wheels with the top screws at the 11 and 1 positions. Their Mk1 Boss (141C pictured centre) which at first I thought was a bit long but I got used to it and it has a variable rear plastic skirt which you can adjust so that it fits up precisely with the Mk1 cowling.
Scortedvan Posted July 2, 2021 Author Report Posted July 2, 2021 Brilliant, thanks for the info! I will look at the Autotecnica ones now! Kind Regards Joe 1
