Looking at changing the horrific standard seats in my Mk1 Escort……question is, what is the actual difference between fiesta and escort RS turbo seats (prob been asked a billion times)?

cheers

Looks wise I don't think there is a lot of difference. Price is starting to creep up so get in quick if you want them. A quick ebay search revealed a few pairs. Some standard, some upholstered. Im running escort rs turbo seats in my mk1 and can't say enough good things about them. Other than maybe sitting a little high but that could be due to my slide runners

Cheers for reply!

How did you fit them?

Only reason I wanted to change is the original vinyl ones have been bodged, riveted and weld hold damaged frame together.

You have any pics?

I've had Escort RS Turbo seats once many moons ago in an Orion (don't ask) and they were very comfy indeed

Also probably back in the 90's I had a set of black leather Sierra Sapphire Cosworth front seats in my MK2 Harrier (another one that I should have kept).

Had to hand make brackets for the Cossie Recaro's and bolt them to the MK2 runners, they were WIDE though compared to MK2 seats and kissed the door panel, but that might have been my crude brackets 🤣

I had a set of corbeaux buckets when I got the car. They had runners which I was able to fit to the feet on the rs turbo seats. The runners were then bolted to the floor in the car. Had to drill out new holes though. They do sit quite close to the door though. I'll get pics tomorrow but car is currently on axle stands as half shafts and diff is out getting a rebuild (long story)

I dont know how easy they are to come across over there but search Recaro LS/LX range of seats.

I have a set in my mk2, i offset them slightly on a set of custom made brackets to just clear the door (although its like 10mm)

Great seats
