Does anyone know where I can get a pair of stronger than standard half shafts for my English Mk1 Cortina axle.

Retro ford do them but they are quite spendy.

Would the rally design escort ones work , or are they different ?

Any ideas ?

You’d have to check bearing sizes but the escort ones should be ok as the Tina axle is 47” wide. To use on an Anglia you just cut the spline length down to correct size. You’ve two options, two piece shafts from either quaife or 3J both set ups ain’t cheap and what I’ve found is it spaces the drive flange 10 mm further out. They’re supposed to be a direct replacement.

I'm running 160 bhp and 150 tq though a ATB, with standard shafts.

What I don't want is a shaft breakage, and all the bits buggering up the ATB.

Thinking ahead of breakage, and going to better shafts, was my thinking.

What sort of hp torque are standard shafts likely to expire at ?
