Bit of a predicament here,

Got these off eBay (set of 4)

2 are stamped 5j and 2 5.5j

Were sold as ‘deep dish’

Is this how they came, or have I been sold odd wheels?

Thought as much……none of these are even ‘deep dish’ the deeper ones are only 5j

There is a 5.5j mk4 cortina version and not deep dish, just different off set

So it turns out there are different

versions of the 5.5J deep dish too…. 🙄

Yup,

The wheels in your shot are Cortina wheels that would have had Chrome rings fitted, hence the rebate for the spring clips. 'Wheel Embellishers' they called them back in the day.

Where are you based?

Pretty sure I have a set of proper deep dish ones knocking about.

And just to confuse you even further even deep dish escort ones come in two flavours, both identical from the front but SA Escort Sport ones are diffrent from behind. More welded lugs on genuine UK Mex / RS ones.
