Strange thing happened today, its a really hot day and the vinyl door trims in the Mk2 naturally when soft but I put on my sun block on my right arm which is in the sun more and it came off in a patch on the door trim when i lent against it and the vinyl started to crinkle up over the entire area that got sun block on it. The trim has virtually been ruined. So seeking a black Ghia drivers door car for a 4 door.  Mind you if you have any others or even a set thats fine too, the rear ones arent exactly pristine either.

Has anyone ever seen a trimmer restore these things?

Has anyone ever tried to vinyl spray door trims a different colour? Ghia ones would involve taking the carpet section off at the bottom and replacing it with black stuff but when your desperate you have to try if there is no other way?

Like C Pillar Trims 4 door cars don't exist in the restorer community aparently!

I have sprayed red interior door handles black, with vinyl spray paint. that went ok.

Like this stuff

I have used it on small bits too but a whole door card is a whole new level quite complex if you consider masking the chrome trim bits

You might be able to strip off the chrome bits etc, to paint the panel, I don't know what is involved in your door card, but if you can't get one , you might need to do whatever is needed to get the end result.

Desperation leads to inspiration. 😁

Yes thats why I would try a Ghia one as the chrome strip is metal. On the GLs its just chromed plastic and if you try masking it off the whole surface comes off when you pull the masking tape off. Tried that one decades ago!
