Seem to have opened a can of worms, I accept the S/H ones will need cleaning,checking and will be worn but to get this car running I will accept those problems would just like to know if any of the ebay carbs are suitable for 1600cc crossflow, if anybody can advise on these and others on ebay or if someone on here has one for sale or can advise me on how to identify, no disrespect not sure on Chinese, thanks again

I should have one with auto choke on a manifold off a sport. But you’d be back near enough to square one it ain’t got the throttle bar and mount on it.

I did offer you a solution if you didn't want to stay original. I used them a few times, low cost and works

Yes I probably will use that and thanks for the link, I am hoping that the carb I am getting from colr6 will see me up and running, with a pending house move and a loss of enthusiasm due to many things you may see a MK1 2 Door up for sale 🤔😢
