Hi all,

being a new member I have a question :-

I have a MK2 Escort which was a 1.6 ghia with the sport clocks.

I'm wanting to fit the RS 2000 clocks.

It is running a vauxhall redtop c20xe engine.

Any ideas how you go about altering the wiring to work the dials etc.

Also I understand for the oil pressure gauge you take the pipe from the back of the dial to a connection point on the oil filter housing ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thsnks.

Hi all,

After some more help.

Having altered the wiring from Ghia to RS I was hoping to use the RS logo on the dials as the oil pressure light.

Have moved the blue / green to the RS logo but doesn't light up as Ghia oil pressure light did ??

Any help appreciated.

The blue/green gives a ground/earth/0V if the oilpressure is low. Otherwise it is open-circuit. The RS logo lights up when it gets a +12V on the pin. So as is it is not compatible. Use a transistor or relay to change the polarity of the signal wire.

Blue/green from oilpr-sw to relay-coil, wire relay as per diagram.

I did exactly this for my van project. Works a treat, though looks a little odd getting a blue oil pressure light.
