antz Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 ive got a mk2 rs2000 clock. the sort that come in the clock pods and i was thinking of making it into a desktop clock. i know id have to make some kind of box for it to sit in but is there any way i can wire it up to run off a battery? cheers
RFChris Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 It should just run off -/+ wires so should be a doddle. Just get a battery connector for a 9v and solder it on.
antz Posted March 22, 2007 Author Report Posted March 22, 2007 sounds good cheers chris! better get down my local DIY whop and find someone with a soldering iron
Mr Sam Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 screw fix do them for pennies and will it not be 12volt
Fiesta Steve Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 screw fix do them for pennies and will it not be 12volt Yeah, you'll probably get 30 hour days with 9volt
antz Posted March 22, 2007 Author Report Posted March 22, 2007 how big is a 12volt battery ill have to invest in one. itll prob not be worth it with the cost of the parts but no1 else will have one
V8ian Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 it may run off a 9v battery without a problem, I think it may be semi clockwork clock, and only requires a battery to energise a solonoid to wind the clock up which runs for about 10 mins. I know some ford clocks ran like this

tazrocks88 Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 you could always use a 12v ac to dc mains transformer and plug it in!!! then u know u have the right voltage.
