105Nick Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 Yeah that Mk1 and tyhe Mk5 on the container look nice ... was that a yellow GT6 i can spot in the foreground? What a shame. There's a yard I can see from the train passing by Dartford with a few Grannys in, two stacked in banger attire plus a gold Mk1 granny estate
Rick Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 the blooz boys man i remember watching those at hednesford as a kid.... dint think theyd still be goin
caprixpack Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 yeah they're still going, bit dodgy though
X-pack-Glyn Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 Banger boys have the nicest stuff too true, and you think they give a toss about trashing it all, nope, not a damn.... theres a mk1 escort estate near here all lined up to be bangered, nearly rot free it is too, the owner will not sell it to a restorer because banger boys pay the best money .... Curse you banger boys!!!! (yes, i was involved in it in the early 90s, but that was when no one wanted old jag's, westy's and granny's).
bronze4door Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 fookin hate them banger boys i was at the civil war at hednesford this year and could of cried at the amount of mint granys that were being raced
jamesmk1 Posted March 27, 2007 Author Report Posted March 27, 2007 i could see about 10 capris 10 cortina's and a lot of mk2 granda's . look's like a mk2 escort and a mk1 xr2 aswell. did not look like thay sold parts as must of them still have engines and alloy's.
LEONMEX Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 Me & a mate raced 26 mk2 grannys & 3 capris in a year at mildenhall & foxhall. But i regret it know, raced a Rouse sport mk3 capri at mildenhall (rare as fook). But did rescue plenty of the bits that are now on my escort.

105Nick Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 Used to love going to arena essex, I haven't been since the mid nineties when that was all they used, but I got pretty upset watching them all get smashed as I loved my dad's and brother-in-law's Tinas. I can't believe them now though having special classic events, I've seen photos of guys destroying genuine thirties buicks and stuff and Anglias, some of which look restorable. What's that all about? And then there's the vintage speedway. Yeah it looks a blast and serious fun, but there's some very unusual machinery being used and they're just going to be destroyed. I gues it does hold some kinda sick appeal though.

Another car that was trashed a few years ago was an old Princess Limousine that had belonged to Winston Churchill!
