  1. I did, but by mistake. I sent a (Mk3 Cortina) steel bonnet and boot lid to SPL in Birmingham for 'dipping'. I didn't realise they were in two pieces bonded together and the dipping removed that completely. I ended up having to tack-weld them back together.
  2. I've heard if you don't move it around enough and it gets a thick later it can cause problems.
  3. This is the kit I have (not used it yet). https://www.amazon.co.uk/por-15-fuel-petrol-sealant/dp/B000H9K4JQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1475869981&sr=8-2 You'll like the COSHH sheet. The state of California believes components of the kit causes cancer.
  4. That clashes with the MTOC national weekend, so we'll struggle to attend. But in the summer, every weekend will clash with something.
  5. Especially with modern 'smart' phones including GPS location within the photo.
  6. I'd be inclined to keep the numbers down for the first one - the more people the harder it will be to arrange.
  7. Not around here. Plumber, roofer, gardener - all get paid when the job's done (and done properly). I project managed a complete house re-furb and that was the same - payment wasn't made until the work was finished, and that was some fairly big items like new boiler, new garden wall, etc.
  8. I helped fit a P38 4.6 RV8 earlier this year, definitely a good option.
  9. Yep.
  10. Is that not just a copy of the Mad Max 'Interceptor' car?
  11. As Malcolm says, the weld won't rust but it will encourage rusting of the mild steel either side. Lots of scienfitic information here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galvanic_corrosion
  12. I *think* the alternator from some Transit diesels have a vacuum pump on the rear.
  13. That's what I was recommended to do - servo only on the front circuit.
  14. This really bugs me - if you add the ebay and PayPal fees on to the postage then buyers complain that you're making a profit on postage.
  15. I've had no problems with my quick shift - standard type-9, I've done about 10,000 miles with it behind a 'high torque' 2.1 pinto without any problems. Well, actually I lie, for years the gear lever rattled like a ba**ard and drove me crazy. But it didn't cause any gearbox problems.
  16. 1980s pop videos mostly, and other people playing piano pieces I'm trying to figure out.
  17. Are you not allowed to use cunifer or cupra-nickel either?
  18. Well, I'm based in Caldicot, but I'm Newport a couple of times each week.
  19. 8pm? I'll send you a message with my mobile number.
  20. If that's Cobham services, yes that's good for me. Is Monday evening OK for you?
  21. I'll be in Aldershot most of next week, I could collect for you if Bob happens to be in a bit of Surrey that's near.
  22. We'd probably come to an event in Devon. Cornwall would be a bit far. We organised something similar for a bike club many years ago - about 30 people. We arranged to camp in the field belonging to a pub and used their loo - with an informal arrangement we would buy food and drink there.
  23. Same here, we have few buses and the ones we have are mostly empty except for a few pensioners with free bus passes.
  24. Not personally, but my Dad had a 2-door Escort, 1100 we think on an F-plate, (but maybe G or H, Dad's a bit vague), but an early example. Dad scrapped it in the mid 1970s. He says it was already rotten, and the Mk4 Zephyr he replaced it with (now being a family man) got better MPG. I still wish he'd kept it for me.
  25. Thanks, I was coming to that conclusion - that you change the lamp by removing the whole unit.
