Check all the electrical connections to the starter motor are clean. Make sure the engine earth is ok, clean all the connections. What you describe is exactly how my RS was, the battery was checked and was 'fine' but it didnt start and seemed exactly like it was flat. Turned out to be a combination of dodgy earth and bad contacts at the starter motor. Fixed it all at no cost other than some time to clean it all.

I think the Lasers need tapered. The ones I have are tapered. I'm up now, so feel free to ring

Ask the question "why was traction control invented?" Because cars loose traction and wheels spin! No fault of the driver, just the road conditions at the time. So anyone without traction control is likely to get done at some point??? Hmmm, thats fair!

Jesus, I didnt know you could get one for some busy-body reporting you. I must have some well tollerant neighbours then cos I always take the corner into my street sideways. Must be diesel on the road or something

I had a very similar experience with my RS. Battery was new, alternator was ok, but it was still 'flat' every morning. Turned out it wasnt actually flat, but a bad earth was making it seem flat. Steve

I took my RS off the road last month. More because of the £95 tax and I rarely use it in the winter so it seems like a waste. My white mk2 stays Taxed all year, but thats just in the hope that it snows I wont drive either in that slushy salty crap that our roads are covered with all winter.

Are you already insured fully comp on your main car? Cos then you can usually drive any other car 3rd party only. Surely that would help?
