  1. Fantastic little Anglebox! Welcome to OSF
  2. Welcome to OSF ... car looks very nice!
  3. I personally think it's a good idea to get the car MOT'd even if you don't have to .... then you can be sure it is safe and fully compliant -- £40 well spent I reckon
  4. Hmmm ... Can't say I have seen many, or even any! Perhaps they are tucked away in the back of garages and barns.
  5. Hello all Did anyone go to Door Slammers at Santa Pod last weekend? We were there flying the O.S.F. flag!! Door Slammers was a huge "thing" back in the 70's / 80's but it became less popular and was dropped towards the end of the 80's. It was picked back up by Santa Pod and after 18 months of planning it re-emerged last weekend with huge sponsors and a £75,000 total prize fund and around 140 entries. There were a number of classes and my other half (Chris Todd) entered his little Scooby powered MK1 Fiesta into the Webster Race Engineering sponsored 4 cylinder class. We made it through the qualifying stages last Saturday after competing against some very fast motors and into the last 16 cars ... he slowly went through the stages, reaching quarter final stage, then into the semi's where he blew the head gasket to reach the final ..... He was up against a very fast MK1 Escort (Cossie powered monster) all the way from Malta that had run a 7.4 on the previous day!! But this is all about being first to the finish line so Chris knew he had to get a holeshot and be off the line first. He had drained all of the water out of the car because of the blown head gasket (and we towed him to the line to keep the car cool), as he runs methanol it was not so bad running without water and all he had to do was get to the end of the strip first as in this game, first to the finish line wins (hence the importance of a good start). After a good burnout and with a 0.07 reaction he was off the line first - there was not enough time for the MK1 Escort to build enough boost and although he was off the line shortly after, he didn't manage to catch the little Fez and Chris crossed the line in first place with a 10.01 finish against the Maltese 10.15 finish ..... what an amazing weekend and a prize of £2500.00 as well as the trophy - with the expert help of crew chief Kevin Jenkins (fellow OSF member) it really was a David and Goliath story

  9. Hopefully that got your attention This weekend sees Round 1 of the Old Skool Ford Drag Challenge 2018. This is now our 13th year and we shall be up at Santa Pod this weekend for the start of OSFDC 2018. This was advertised as The Fast Show but due to the recent adverse weather conditions (the usual camping and car park fields are flooded) the actual Fast show has moved back to the end of the month but it's still a RWYB with Saturday Night Racing (and no annoying bufty show cars) with test and tune racing on Sunday. You can still camp/sleep in motor but this will be in the pit area and it's cheaper to attend For those that want to "have a go" or for those that haven't been for a few years we shall be there all weekend so come along and support us and if you want to take part that would be even better as we have some great prizes from our Round 1 sponsors - Brands Hatch Performance For more details see the post here which will, in turn, link you to each round in this years challenge. Full coverage, as always, in Classic Ford Magazine and everyone welcome to come along, take part, chat or watch!
