Essex can be done in 4 and a half hours from Whitby where I work. Take some mates, make a road trim of it. If i'm on business I can be there and back before 12 if I need to, the UK is a really small place lol.

The people local to me are a load of numpties, after having a few people come and give me quote's im looking for a resonable bodyshop to do quality repair work and a decent sprayjob. Hell, all the car needs is a pair of outer sills, one arch a few trim holes welding up and a few small dents removing. The cars only done 20,000 miles so is virtually mint! Ive got in the region of 2.5/3k to spend on a respray. Recomendations. Hell, if they are good enough I can hve the car moved anywhere in the Uk for the work to be done.

BMW 760Li - Bad thing is you have no idea you are going so quick, I think its limited to 155mph, I know its capable of a lot more though.

I agree its a shame. I did the same with a Cortina Mk3 that was near mint, sold all the bits and modified the shell for racing. Could have done it to a rusty car, but I wanted to start with the best I could possibly buy.

Must just be me that think Iron Maiden are utter crap, lol. Thrash and Grindcore is where its at, Carcass, Slayer, In Flames, Metallica and the like....

What can you do? Some people just are not interested in old Fords, I don't blame them I dont like old British/Vauxhalls etc. But I wouldn't tell someone I thought thier car was shit. Had it a few weeks back when I was dropping my 2Door Mk3 Cortina off at a bodyshop, two guys working on a MG Rover asked if I was taking it for scrap, had to bite my tongue hard. The doors on my car are worth more than your average MG Rover.

You still after a prop for one, thought you had it sorted, Ive got two from 1600X-Flows with good Universal joints if you require one. As for my current resto Mk3 2 door. Car - £2000 could have had cheaper but I wanted an unmessed with, original, solid shell. Respray/body resto and a few shell mods, somewhere in the region of £1500 - 2000. Swaymar 3.0 V6 - Came from a car i broke but easily 1500. Not even going to go any further, I recon 7/8,000 all in more possibly.

Spent £1500 on a respray, the guy had my eyes out, I couldnt be bothered to contine or put any more money into it. Always wanted a 2 door and now i have one, quite a solid original one at that. oh yeah, the 4 door got broke up, the shell lives on though, it reshelled a rusty Mk3 for a guy less picky about bodywork than I am.

As for not posting photo's, bah, ive had enough dodgy characters turn up from ebay and seen some of the bits in there to be worried about it anymore. Bit cramped at the moment!!!!

The project I am working on at the moment has rust in the two front corners of the roof skin/window opening that was lurking under the vinyl roof. Has anyone ever repair anythnig like this or does anyone in the northeast know of someone who would attempt this? Have got the front off another non vinyl roofed cortina to use as a repair section. Main worry is I dont want the roof to be rippled, I had at first though of just shaping a plate inserted from underneath and welding from the top, then filling it smooth with filler. Not sure if this will crack, or be really obvious however.

Worth a lot of money in spares. Mine was an OK drive but ugly as sin. Was Sh1t brown, Only bought it for the rebuilt motor. You can buy the Rover V8 conversion kit for them though.
