  1. I'm currently suffering from a broken jaw and can't chew anything, I'm on bloody baby food so PLEEEEEEEEEASE.....no mention of McDonalds! God I'm hungry!!!!
  2. Draughtsman..............or at least that's what I still call myslef, but it's all done on bleedin computers these days...not a drawing board in sight, but I refuse point blank to be referred to as a CAD operator...bah humbug!
  3. Still at work and got a bloody filter on that stops about 30% of the filth sites...and your link was one of them.....I'll try again later. That taste in women we share, would that be "still breathing" by any chance? Mind you how nice it is to see what appear to be stockings....when was the last time you saw the old smartie contour on a womans skirt.....come to that when was the last time you saw a doris in a skirt!!!!?????
  4. I think just about any car looks it's best in black (just imagine a black 2CV!) but on this one for what my opinion is worth, (and remember I just came up with the concept of a black 2CV!!) i'd go with the baby blue, but with some royal blue detailing as well.
  5. Yes but where do we look for more pics of the doris!!!!
  6. Now listen guys, I did say only 80% of truckers are homicidal maniacs! I know what you mean about the car drivers that floor it to try and stop you pulling out though, quite pathetic, but be fair quite a few of your colleagues can be down right bloody dangerous when pulling out at times! Like you said, umpty squiddly tons of weight in your favour can result in a certain degree bravado! As for this thing of driving six feet behind the truck in front to save fuel...well all I can say is they must be totally barking! One thing I will say is that until I started doing the Killie trip four years ago I had no idea just how much freight gets shifted by truck, especially overnight. I'll be on the M74 and it's just me and one long line of wagons as far as the eye can see!
  7. Jeez......that has got to hurt on your back matey, and cost a few bob as well I should imagine! How many sittings before it's all done do you think?
  8. I love Jazz , Tamla, Reggae, Rythm n Blues, anything with a bit of soul in it. I am also a huge fan of the Eagles, and Nat King Cole so take your pick really. I even like some country and western....!!! The latter as a result of my Mrs being a huuuuuuge Willy fan (Willie Nelson that is, any other huge willies she may be a fan of I know nothing about). I do draw the line at rap, hip hop, house or any other trendy name you like to put to the garbage that Kiss FM plays and which my 15 year old Daughter insists on listening to in my car...it really is odious in my opinion! Oh, and I really can live without opera if it's all the same to anyone out there!!
  9. It is Aubone, though I think he should change his name to Clark Kent cos as far as IO am concerned he is 'kin superman !
  10. Good double page spread in a current edition of a classic magazine, which is of a practical nature, of a guy with 10 Anglias! The photo is of 8 of his collection, including a pick up, a van, an estate, and a police verison and they are all mint,.....all the more incredible is that the guy is partially sighted! He restores them himself as well! Hats off to him!
  11. the round ones....just means you are not watching the traffic I knew it would be my fault, it usually is!!!
  12. As someone who drives 800 motorway miles to and from Kilmarnock to Maidenhead every month I would offer the following advice; Remember that 80% of truck drivers are homicidal maniacs who love nothing better than waiting until you are half way past them before pulling straight out into your lane! Remember that all drivers of Black Range Rover sports think they are the most important people on the planet and therefore believe that everyone else should get out of their way so don't be surprised if you are in three lanes of heavy traffic (all doing 70 and keeping a safe distance officer) when they race up behind you and flash like lunatics for you to get out of their way. Remember never to smirk when the other carriageway is standing still as you cruise past at 70, because the second you do your side will come to a total standstill as well. Oh and the obvious of course, remember that ALL BMW drivers are tw*ts! By the way, if you see a Silver Skoda hanging on your arse, it is old bill!!!
  13. I would say I admire those in particular....but I may get duffed up again so I'm keeping quiet! KTBFFH!
  14. I have to agree, that is just plain greedy! To keep the original thread going my Mrs would love the mini. I only managed to convince her to get rid of the one she had had for eight years when she was about 6 months pregnant with our latest edition. Two nippers, a buggy and all the bleedin shopping she buys in a mini was not on! I find people either love or loathe minis..me I love 'em....had an 850 and a 1275gt in the past, and used to love taking hers down the shops...she could never understand why it took me half an hour to pop to the corner shop and back, ....well it would have been rude not to throw it around the back roads of Ayrshire en route wouldn't it!!!! The big question is, if you could only keep one, which would it be?
  15. I'm in Maidenhead 3 weeks of the month so should be able to make a few in the Anglia.
  16. Wilko on the 105Speed forum had a similar experience, being chased down the A14 by a Mitsubishi Warrior full of pikeys trying to buy his Anglia van. I once had a Shogun full of "do as you likeys pull up next to me" in my 2000E. The one nearest was full of compliments and then asked "where do you keep it at night" I replied "I'm hardly like to tell you am I" Luckily they fell about laughing!
  17. In fairness my Mrs likes old Cars, she used to have an A30! She likes my Anglia, and the 2000e before it, but thinks my desire for a TR6 is all about the mid-life crisis (I'm still gonna get one though). The only thing she likes that I can't stand is Dr bleedin Hook ! I don't mind the ballads but all that Freekers Ball stuff is total b****cks as far as I'm cocerned, but her and the boy love it!!!
  18. If you mean the MK2 ones....I agree, they looked a bit school art exam standard to me!
  19. There was a picture in one of the Ford mags a few issues back of a guy with about 6 MK2s tattooed on his back and chest! As much as I love old Fords, it was a bit too weird for my tatstes!! I do hava a tattoo of a certain footy club badge about my person but after Saturday might I'm keeping shtum about it!!!
  20. 'Are you selling it?'. Or you could have replied... "No, is she?"
  21. My "home" is now Kilmarnock, where my Mrs and boys live ( i split my time between there and Maidenhead). We moved up 4 years ago and until I moved I had no idea how intense the hatred was between Celtic and Rangers!.....I have steered my eldest boy(10years) away from them both and he follows Killie where we can have a safe enjoyable game of footy and a great pie, as for the youngest (10months) I think I'll buy him some spanners instead of a football for his first birthday in July!
  22. I "think" I have sent you an e-mail saying it is yours(his) etc....but I am a bit of a numpty with this techno stuff...if you don't get anything let me know via this thread or a pm and I will try again!!!! Cheers
  23. I've been going to footy regularly since I was 15 and this is the first time I've been done over. Usually I can spot trouble a mile off, but I had, had a skinfull and was 30- miles from the ground at the time so my guard was off!! Any way, I live to tell the tale so got to be gratefull for small mercies, could have been a lot worse! Once again, many thanks for all the good wishes!
  24. It's a "PEARSONS ILLUSTRATED CAR SERVICING" manual printed in 1972. A4 size and about 100 pages with a nice colour photo of a black 100e outside outside a cottage on the front (very twee) and the mag is in mint condition. The in-laws, bless em, got it for me as a birthday pressie...I hadn't the heart to tell them mine was a 105E. I know some of the stuff will cross over to my model but I've got enough manuals on it already It's free to whoever wants it (but I'll give priority to someone running a stock care) as it would go nicely with the right car!
  25. Cheers guys! No long term damage done (I hope) and I have already lost 5lb in weight so every cloud etc etc! Just wish I had flogged the bleedin ticket, not only would I be tickety boo , but I'd be booking a nice paint job on the Angle box now if I had!
