Remember I was wondering whether to sell the Cup Final ticket for £1500? Well I didn't sell it, went to the game and got my head kicked in Saturday night because I was wearing a Chelsea shirt! I now have a broken jaw and six stitches in my head! So the moral of the atory is, that if you have a chance to Sell something for silly money........TAKE IT!

Coincidentally, someone asked me that very question about my Anglia last week-end. I just said "if you need to ask, you'll never know!". Left him totally stumped and we moved on to something else! Works every time!

I've just seen how much I could get for my cup final ticket on e-bay.....one current bid at £1500 !!!!! Just think what I could do to the angle box with that sort of money, and after all I could always watch the game down the boozer...hmmmmmmmmm! I'd put it to a vote but I think I can guess the outcome somehow!

Well whilst we are on the subject, just what is a computer exactly? I'll just boil up some cocoa and be back to check out the answer later.....just as soon as I find my cardy and slippers!

[Just remember that most coppers are normal people who can have bad days just the same as anyone else can, but on the whole are doing the job, cause they want to and feel that they want to make a difference and catch the villans..... I have to admit I'm guilty of forgetting that sometimes! To be fair, most of us realise it is the suits that make policy not the coppers themselves, they are just the poor sods who have to carry it out! Like I said at the start though, three out of the four I dealt with were perfectly reasonable, and a 75% success rate is a pretty good result in any ones book!

We all have days when we think the World is out to get us, but take a step back for a while and you will soon realise you are doing what you really want to do. And the most you can make of those times the better ...trust me I'm an old fart so I know!!! After all what's the alternative? Would you be happy with a two year old, reliable, economical Fiesta for example??.............thought not! As for the busy bodies, I bet they have all got ugly wives, so any excuse to get out of the house, even to have a moan at you is like a life saver for them! Next time they have a pop just smile and say.."Thanks for that for letting me know, now can I get back on with minding my own business whilst you do likewise"...or words to that effect. Sarcasm may be the lowest form of wit, but it works every time!

Got tugged by the local Old Bill twice in ten minutes last night!! (Got a rear light out) First pull at Taplow station, second just after Skindles Bridge in Maidenhead....as most won't know where the bejeezus these places are, they are about a mile from each other....don't coppers talk to each other these days?? In fairness the first copper was ok and just advised me to get it sorted asap, but the second pull both coppers got out and one was a wet behind the ears youngster with serious attitude problems (he'll go far!). Three in the morning, raining and his implication was that I should fix it there and then, and why hadn't I fixed it already, and do I know it's a criminal offence etc etc etc..patronising little tw*t! I had to do some serious lip biting I can tell you!!

It's one of those "magic picture" things, if you stare at it long enough you will see a thumbs up sign hidden in there somewhere!

Not just earliest OSF memory, but earliest car memory....1964, my old man bought a yellow MK1 Cortina. I remember him sitting me on his knee (I was only 3 at the time, I hasten to add) and I can clearly remember playing with the steering wheel.....come to think of it, I think that is my earliest memory, full stop! He eventually sold the Cortina to an Aunt when we emigrated to New Zealand, and she kept it till the late 70s, by which time I had returned to blighty and told her to give me first choice when she ever decided to flog it......typical doris, didn't do as she was told and had the car scrapped before I knew what was happening...WHY DO THEY NEVER EVER LISTEN!!!!???

Following on from the "cars in your household" thread and truning to girls and cars...... I bought the Mrs her fully loaded Shogun about six months ago....bearing in mind that she picked it, I couldn't help but "laugh(?)" when driving home in it she announced that She didin't like Air Conditioning as it was drafty, that she would have to cover the leather seats as they got marked too easily, and that she didn't like electric windows because her and the boys might get trapped if they didn't work"... when the following day she announced that she didn't really like the colour either I simply threw my arms in the air and went for a pint! I don't know how I didn't shoot her on the spot!

I'll add my tuppence worth to the general consensus matey, don't worry about it. What you post is more important than how you spell it! I don't recall anyone having to sit an exam to join this forum, just the owning or admiration of OLD SKOOL FORDS is qualification enough for me!

Ten years ago I ran a Granny MK2 (still the best car I have ever had). The clutch went and I had it towed to a local one man band in Sluff that I used. Unfortunately he was on Hoilday for a week, so had to leave it outside his lock-up. Within the week the local "community" had totally trashed it...every window, every panel, pi**ed inside the lot! I felt thoroughly beaten and had the car scrapped, ..............and have never forgiven myself!

I wasn't sure of the etiquette (spelling?) as it was my first visit to an OSF get together, and didn't want to try and get in the car park only to be told to bugger off as no-one knows me, and I hadn't "booked" a space! For my future reference, is it simply a case of if it's OSF it's in, or do I need to let someone know in advance that I'm coming?

Did you happen to notice the ropey spruce green Anglia that parked up on the road outside the car park, right next to yours,?...that's mine! Not quite in the same league as yours but I like it. Only had it a few months, plan is to run it through this spring/summer, then take it off the road for a bit of a spruce up over next winter. Doubt I will go for anything radical like engine upgrade, as to be honest I just don't have the know-how, and not going down the plastic flowers concours route, but hopefully won't be too embarassed to park next to your car in the future!

Go with the 8 ball in my opinion, but of all the options, the skull is a definite no no! But then again, I had a cow print pattern interior to my MK 3 Cortina so maybe I'm not the best person to give advice on style or taste!

Sorry guys I've been out of DIY car running for so long, this is bound to be a schoolboy problem for you lot, but help me out will you please... Took my stock 997 Anglia up to the Ace yesterday which is a run of only about 30 miles for me....anyway ran like a dream there but I have this recurring problem ....if I leave the car for more than say ten minutes but less than an hour or so, after a longish run, it is a pig to start, seems like it is flooded. It does start..... eventually and then runs perfectly again, but it is a bit of a pain...any advice?
