  1. 2.1 zetec bottom end, CVH TURBO head
  2. whts wrong with a cvh? easy to work on reliable... hcs 1.0, 1.1, 1.3 and enduras are the worst ford engines, theyre disposable
  3. sorry forgot that cosworth made it not ford still sticking with Pinto or ZVH
  4. oh yeah on the subject of CVH's i know its not designed to work together but they are both ford!! 2.1 Zetec Block, 1.6 RS turbo CVH Head = ANIMAL ZVH
  5. Pinto or YB turbo
  6. they dont do shit, on which car? the 2 people who have said that have escorts in there pics? capri's have BAD nose dive, not sure on the anti-dive kit never had one but i can say a set of new gaz shock inserts will help and theyre not that expensive, i think tickover sell them
  7. i had a good old standard one from a car spares shop for about £8. cant remember what it was, delco or powergrip or something. was a high comp, cammed and vernier pulley, was fine
  8. Thats the f*ckers what are those wheels called... ive seem them somewhere on the net on a sexy white mk3 xpack and i cant find it again! it was gorgeous! so is that escort!
  9. yeh the cossie wheels i mentioned, alot of people think of them as being the same as mondeo ghia wheels, well they are, just with a much deeper dish... the brooklands wheels im not sure about, they look shit white, and they need 205/50/15's i would have said, them 60's make them look a bit balooney for 15s im not even 100% if they are genuine brookland alloys?# but yes they will fit straight on
  10. i think capris are the the round ones around corners, they dont understeer, they oversteer, yes they lean like a boat on 2.0 laser suspension tho! but when you know how to handle a capri you just throw it around like you dont give a f*ck and then if the arse comes out, you control it. simple really oh yeah UNLESS its raining or slippery road! they do understeer in the rain, very badly, and oversteer, they just go everywhere if u not careful lol
  11. oh yeah, we then pulled into a layby with the 5ierra, and the driver got out saying open you bonet, then he wanted to be taken for a spin in it, i waited there while they done a lap of ashford, he came back in a state of shock and kept repeating to his mate "he didnt even come out of 2nd gear " was sooo funny
  12. this ones not complete plastic, and im sure theres a few of you using the engines from them, but anyway... was in a capri one night cruizin round ashford with my uncle, we come to a set of lights on the ring road with 3 lanes, sitting there already about to race was a mk1 scooby doo with a doris behind the wheel and a 5ierra saph cosworth. my uncle looks at me and says "we can either pull away slowly, or pull away slowly with a lot of smoke" i just grinned mk3 capper 3.1 swaymar race engine on a 4speed bullet box with a 3.09 diff rediculously tuned to the point it was going wrong every time he drove it. engine hated low revs and to make it worse the gears were stupidly long, i mean, 105mph in 2nd long. we pull away in a cloud of smoke, meanwhile the scooby and the cossie are off up the road, then we get to about 50-60, slap it in 2nd, still spinning to about 70, caught some grip, screamed thru 2nd gear and tore past both like they were going backwards, didnt even get to 3rd gear. that is what you call plastic killing
  13. well i would normally agree with you all, and when i saw the 1st pic of them Rfx's i was going to, untill i looked down and saw the pic with the 17's they were meant to be there mate.
  14. Go on the cappers you will have to piss of double the amount of plastic owners to make up for the ones i havent been able to play with lately. untill i can get another capri on the go again at the mo im concentrating on working, and retaking my tests, then i will get myself another capper with a suitable powerplant under that massive bonet that i miss looking down al the more reason to work loads and get as much cash as possible to get me a descent plastic killer!
  15. nah i think they have 205-225 width tyres which i would say is 7-8j just by looking at the wheels the offset looks like it was made for a RWD, maybe why ive seen these on a lot of MK1 Sierra Cossies they r expensive though il give you that
  16. 2CV!!, MG midget, beetle, campers, who dissed the vivas? ladas are shite yes but any of you get a 1500 lada riva, take it out in the rain for a thrash first before you sell it for £50 to my mate for banger racing. theyre strong old tanks!
  17. inlet manifold gasket broke or missing? carb to manifold gaskets? brake servo pipe? split? could be a vacuum leak
  18. i want to learn how to use that just so i can draw up a capri how i want it! That is amazing!
  19. I know its front wheel drive, but it has wide arches for a FWD and the offset looks fairly Capri-ish. i personally think these would look the tits on a capri... Escort Cossie
  20. lmao thats not even that much of a stretch, try putting a 285/35/22 on a mint porsche alloy that you CANNOT scuff with a shitty machine that liked to scuff alloys. if i was still working in a tyre garage id tell you to get here!
  21. exactly what you just said almost hapened, is exactly what did happen to me in a transit, it was an 04 plate 328i Convetible, pushed his bumper back a bit and pushed all the rear arch up.
  22. ive done it plenty of times, i had an austin maestro and i lost about 3, my mate does banger racing and had a couple of cavaliers there, the caps off them fitted lovely
  23. mk2 escort van? not sure on price
  24. the only bits that wernt in them are the 2.8i billies with the 4pots. and theyre not here theyre in his garage. so i will have to try and get those back soon.
  25. had an old kent fr1 in my 2.1 pinto, lumpy tickover, but i liked it, sounds mean had a fair amount of low down grunt then you put your foot down, pulled well at any revs but mainly started tearing between about 4000-7000rpm was still pulling like a train at 7000 but i didnt want it to go bang!
