  1. Can i bring the recovery truck? It's a bit shit at the mo......
  2. OMG the paint is BAD! Only cosmetic though. Here's the best bit, we had no idea how huge it was! We measured her, and the wheelbase is 13ft, the total length is 23ft, so she's bigger than the biggest Mk2 luton. As a Petrol I doubt we will be able to afford to fill both tanks, I stopped at £60! She already has Mk2 steering and brakes, and a D series bumper! I think the tanks are D series too, that £60 only made half of the gauge. We are planning a DI for her, and an amber beacon, and defo improve that paint!! Also the wings have been bodged in a big way. Where the headlights and indicators go have been flushed off with flat steel plate, and the lights have been fixed directly to the plates. The indicators are not originals, and the headlights are halogen replacements, so they can be re used, I have some NOS indicators so I was thinking to put them on the camper reversion and the reversion's ones on the truck. We replaced the bezels and ally dishes on the amby with NOS so the ones off the amby can go on the truck too. More pics to follow!
  3. What a difference! Had it been stood in a field for 3 years?
  4. Any 80s rock, basically that's why I just leave the radio tuned to Virgin.
  5. The only thing that annoyed me about that was he was offered medical help but wouldn't do it cos of his Jehovah's Witness beliefs that meant he couldn't have a blood transfusion. WTF kind of religion would stop somebody having life saving treatment? That having said, why did he waist the surgeon's time coming all the way from Portugal to London just to say he wouldn't have a transfusion.
  6. That's the way to deal with em!!
  7. You are lucky ut didn't fall over! The tyres are not new or old, have legal tread and we have had the van for 21 years, so you think it would have happened before now. Hey ho.....
  8. Was out in the Mk2 LWB trannie, just had to put some air in the rear tyres (dunno if that's relevant) it was persisting down and I was rushing through Park Royal which was empty, took a roundabout and suddenly the back tried to overtake the front!! I surprised myself thinking 'oo, that's fun'..... Don't think I would do it deliberately though, specially if there was anybody about! ..........honest.
  9. You can't get celly over the counter any more, unless you are a registered restorer and you have to give a classic car number plate.
  10. Last year my first words to the same tester was 'don't waste your time looking for a fog light, reversing light or hazards...... He then picked up the emissions probe and was told he wouldn't need it
  11. We are up to 5 Mk1s now, 3 on the road and 2 in progress!! And er a lot of Mk2s.....
  12. I know, my point was you don't forget your first car/van.....
  13. I don't like black rims, they look too much like regular wheels with the wheel trims off.
  14. So not too bad then. Our 36 year old transit failed on wipers not working (fuse) and washers not working (he couldn't find the switch ) and no horn (the wire fell off) so when I fixed the fuse and the wire, showed the 22 year old kid where the washer switch was (on the dash, not the floor switch) she passed.......
  15. Nice one Ann! I remember my first Mk1 transit!
  16. Here we go again, why do people hate cats so much? I wouldn't have one, they don't give enough back for my liking, but I don't hate them.
  17. Had on that put me in hospital for 4 days, took 1cm out of my top lip. Sadly had to have him put to sleep then. Still have 2 others though, the smallest is the worst, she was the only one not scared of the one that put me in hospital!
  18. Now you see you wouldn't have that if you had a Jack Russell. Mind you you might not have the gerbils either......
  19. yeah next year but if bbc dont commision for less than three how come there was only 2 life on mars' ? Ah, hang on sorry I meant a 3rd year, as in maybe one in the 1960s.....
  20. Oh is it finished then? There will be another series, the BBC don't commission for less than 3.
