  1. Yet another Ebay seller who should clearly be listed as a business pretending to be a private seller, makes me wonder if I'm the only person paying tax on my income

    smoking

I gave up December 14th after several attempts, I found that willpower was the only way, no patches, gum an mucking about, tried them all in the past without any luck, cutting down doesn't work either. I ended up in hospital for a few days and they chucked me in a bed next to a bloke with emphysema, that was enough to make me decide that I wasn't smoking eny more, hearing him basically drowning on the fluid on his lungs and unable to breathe even with oxygen did the trick for me So, in short, if you want to give up dont light ciggies and put them in your mouth, simple

    Which one?...

Ok, needed a cheapo pick up for moving dogs/crap/parts, and to cut a long story short I went to look at one and ended up with 2, a VW Caddy and a P100, trouble is I can only drive 1 at a time so 1 needs to go, trouble is I cant decide, what do you think??? http:// http://
  5. If you have a car and reshell it then you can keep your original registration mark and logbook legally, its all done on a points system, scores out of 10, bodyshell is 1 point, drivetrain and trim have points allocated to them and you need a certain percentage to keep the original status of the car. The only reason want to give their car a new id unless its stolen is because their after trying to up its value, either by making it tax exempt or by making it out to be something its not, swapping an id onto another shell, wether both brought legally or not is ringing and should be stopped. I used to break old Fords (only rotten ones ) for a living and have never sold a logbook and tags on, its all ok until some thieving git decides to buy one and give your car a new id to punt on to some poor fecker, then it ceases to be funny.
  6. If you report the auctions to Ebay they do remove them. Also its not unknown for the DVLA to have a flick through Ebay and other sites and take note of V5's for sale, the details are then entered on their database and they sit back and wait for the car to reappear on the VOSA system when it rolls in for mot.
  7. What are they called, I got one in the shed, did have four until some t**t stole 3 off a Capri I picked up Cant see any manufacturers name or details on it and I wouldn't mind making a set back up.
  8. Yeah, it looks heavy in the c post, in reality you would need to slim it down and rake it a bit...
  9. And, as if by magic... I saw a 4 door 100E in the photoshop section earlier and decided to have a play for 5 minutes (vista wont work with my psp8 so it was good old unreliable paint ) [/url]http:// Hope the guy who put his pic up dont mind, 1 very basic idea of a 4 door sled...
  10. Thats one of my old ones, shame to see it looking like that, always regretted selling it Originally an 1100 base, been messed about with plenty before I got it and far from mint, looks good in pics but had had some rear arches badly fitted by a previous owner that left a wobble in the rear quarters and a few other areas needing doing, I sold it to a guy from Suffolk about 2 years ago who was going to restore it (needed sills, drip rails etc) looks like it had a quick going over and was put back out, still got a hole in my garage where it sat but at 3 grand it can stay where it is
  11. What operating system do you use?
  12. I spotted that sitting there a couple of weeks back, didnt look bad from what I saw with a queue of traffic up my rs, was going to turn round and have a gander but er indoors was with me and in nagging mode
  13. How would one find out that the car is insured http://www.askmid.com/
  14. I used to do quite a bit on ebay, which was all declared to the taxman as are my other business accounts, what annoys me is people running what is clearly a part time business without the overheads that a proper business has or the legislation to contend with, why should I have to provide accounts and be taxed on my earnings, be liable under the trades discription act as well as have product liability insurance, have to have licences to operate and comply with council and environment agency guidelines when others plainly dont bother, seeing it as a bit of beer money for the weekend, legitimate businesses cant compete with people trading in this way, its like people who are employed and moan about foreigners coming into the country doing the job for less, they havent got the overheads so the British workforce suffers as wages are driven down.
  15. If they were genuine they wouldn't have to stick their noses in because they would all be declaring their income from Ebay
  16. Ebay dont and have never cared about the sellers, they continually increase their cut whilst siding with the buyer in any dispute that arises. Their recent move to Luxemberg resulted in a VAT cut of 2.5% for them but they kept the fee's as they were when they had to pass on 17.5% to the British VAT man.
  17. We had a fairly good shake here in West Norfolk, should use it as an excuse to chuck roof tiles at the V****a and have it written off
  18. I've seen it the other way around a few times since the AA took the Ford contract from the RAC

  20. If you want a torquey motor (and one thats a bit period) I would go for the Essex, as someone else has said its basically the V4 with 2 more pots, if not then a pinto, at least its got an oval stamped on it
  21. Cheers folks, that gives me a starting point, I'm going to test them and clean them up, not really sure what I'm going to do with them but their better looking than Vectra clocks
  22. I was having a hunt around a local scrappie today and came across these, seeing as they had magpie appeal and the yard owner doesn't charge me fr bits I thought I had better bring them home, they were found in an old Dairy Crest trailer so does anybody actually have a clue what their from?

  25. Thats about how I see it, I've had a few come through that would've gone again with a bit of time spent, 2 Mk2 3.0s in the last year, a very early 2.8 needing some panels and a bit of paint and a couple of others, all have been advertised and I had time wasters on the lot of them, I locked a couple away as I couldn't see them broken but the rest had to go as I didn't have time or room. I started driving round in Fords when I was 17 because I could buy them cheap, its only since they became "trendy" and their values gone up that anyone has really bothered what happens with them, as long as people keep buying parts they will keep getting broken, if people dont want the parts they will end up being scrapped as they are, thats how it works, simple as. What annoys me more than anything is when you see concours cars brought up by the rally boys and thrown down a country lane, if the shell gets knackered then they get a reshell, into another good car, but the people who sell them the cars in the first place do so because they will pay good money for them, again, supply and demand. The same could be said for those who stick v******l lumps in them or non period engines in them, or pull the interior to make room for a pair of Sparco's
