  1. Nice one gents, I am just outside Stanford... Probably gonna be a handful of us meeting up in the A13 services between Orsett Gerbil and Stanford roundabout, on the east bound carriage way heading towards southend. gonna be there from about 8ish onwards...
  2. I see both posts, cannot wait for this show, should be immense. Fingers crossed the weather will be kind. Be warned I will take shit loads of pics....
  3. I'll be there, think Munch from here is also going. Massive 260 Capri's alone on the track for the 50th, and a possible 800 cars in total, should be a really good show if all goes to plan, and all for a great cause. Really looking forward to this one, also a bonus that it's 6 miles for me at a stretch.
  4. Hello Rich T..... She is a tin top, no sun roof. Prefer that to the Targa, but Targa's are pretty cool in their own way, just prefer the side silhouette of the coupe. Also to answer Rallypack2000, believe it or not I was only looking for a new car for work. As an everyday car commuter. I had had a Ford KA from new, it was 13 years old, knackered and I felt I had done my bit by driving a cheap and cheerful runabout for work. She was ready for the scrapper and I was looking to spend £6-£8k on a more comfortable car, and to be honest I was looking at maybe a Fiesta ST or something along those lines. But about a year or so earlier, my mum got herself an all black, black paint, black fuchs and black leather interior, an 87 3.2 911 Carrera, and although it had never really been my type of car before, seeing one a regular basis I had obviously gotten to appreciate them more and more without really realising it. They were still more expensive than an ST, but not by bundles as this was before the prices soared. I told the mrs I was going to look at the Porsche instead of a Fiesta and also sell the Xpack to make up for the extra expense. So to cut a long story to less boring, I did sell the xpack online, the guy had even made arrangements to collect, but before the day, I told him I had changed my mind, couldn't sell her. By this time I had already arranged to fly to Scotland to pick up the Porsche. First saw her online for £12k, then she was gone, thought someone had bought her. Then a month or so later she was for sale again, same guy, this time £10k and believe it or not she didn't budge at £10k and then the price dropped to £8.5k. Assumed it was fate so I messaged the guy, and although I am not very good at bartering, we agreed on a price of £7900. I transferred a deposit, me and Mrs fle to jockland, picked her up made a weekend of it driving her back stopping in posh hotel halfway back, and there you have it, no Fiesta but a Porsche instead. And the really funny thing is, after about 6 months of using the Porsche, I put her away in the garage along with the Capri and then didn't really touch her for about 10 years, just like the Capri which i tucked up for about 19 years. And yes as the Porsche was now garaged for the forseeable, I needed another cheap runabout for work....Another cheap KA.... In hindsight I done ok, 7900 for a Porsche is no longer possible.
  5. You stalking me? I'm just bumping the thread to see if we get some more visitors this year...
  6. Cheers notenoughtime. Not really the right forum for the SC, otherwise I would. Cool as she is, she ain't an old ford. Only got away with putting her pics up cos of your thread.......
  7. I think the XJ220 is a very cool car, good looks and now super rare. And love the Montecarlo Vista, just a gorgeous looking motor that one.... Current state of the SC, getting there but it all takes time and money, and I am trying to do as much as I can myself, except the final coat of paint. The back end is ready, the front still a work in progress, but all welding is now complete. I am really hoping she's good to go for Spring 2020. Oh, and the welding skills are my mates, and when he's not welding for me he on his 2.8i special.
  8. Should be a 6 car stand again this year, with a nice MK2 Lotus Cortina added to the clan - Please pop by and say hello. Grab your discounted tickets with club code CC6623.
  9. No doubt not everyones cup of tea, and it would have to be after a fairly decent lottery win, but if I had the funds a 959 is my dream machine. Rare and classy.... Once my SC is back on the road, hope to see one in the flesh at some shows if i am lucky....
  10. I think lack of interest stems from the amount of new cars involved as opposed to uncertain times.
  11. In the very top picture, that is actually Ray in that submarine....
  12. Should be a 5 car stand again this year, with a nicw MK2 Lotus Cortina added to the clan - Please pop by and say hello. Grab your discounted tickets with club code CC6623.
  13. And why paint it red, narrows your market to only red car likers....
  14. Best way is to try one one. Usually a negative offset gives the wheel the nice dish street side and not too much behind the hub. Positive offset means more dish behind the wheel. Little diagram below, gives the idea - you should be able to grab the measurements from your hub centre and work ou roughly where the wheel rim will come in respect of your arches.
  15. It has helped preserve Munches R..eal S..low 2000 with a layer of oil....
  16. Lancaster Insurance Classic car show - NEC 2019 As above ladies and gents, from 8th to 10th November 2019. 3000 Classic cars on show, 300 vehicle clubs, all indoors so weather never an issue. 17. That estate woody wagon is sweet, and who knew Porsche wheels would suit, they look great!!
  18. Those door handles certainly get around....
  19. Can't really miss the red and gold angle box, very distinctive.....
  20. I have to admit Col, that I didn't get one of either of the Ranchero's, as cool as they were. I'm at another local show on the 7th July, hopefully one of em will be there then and I will grab a pic. Saw the angle box on youtube with you whizzing round Mallory....
  21. Slightly off topic, but a couple of really cool Ranchero's at the Lawns show Sunday just gone.
  22. Just a few more pics from the local Rochford Lawns show Sunday just gone, just to show still being used and abused. Well attended and bigger/better than I had thought it would be, actually pretty cool show. A few Fords and a few non-Ford pics. Hopefully next year we will join you all again for the TOTM 2020..
  23. An old thread, but what the hell, any excuse for a few pics....Used and not so abused this last weekend at the Classics on the sea front - Southend........Weather was kind of ok, but fooking windy, but a few nice old motors dotted about - Mine, Munches and Munches car fwiend.....who parked next door.....
  24. Just read all of that thinking it was a new thread, thinking how cool. Then going through the replies see that I read it the first time around and comented, and i don't remeber reading it or commenting on it back then....getting old ffs... Cool story though, glad I have seen it again.
  25. This issue is normally resolved by removing the steering wheel from your pants......It's ok i'll wait.............
