I think that once your child starts high school 11/12 then they are ok to be left home alone for a little while. It does depend on the child though and that they understand what they can/can't do Still don't like leaving my older ones home alone as I'm never sure what I will come home too last time they flooded the kitchen

Great advice Another tip is to have your parents [if they drive] as named drivers on your insurance,this saved our daughter about £100
