keep the pinto as said above a 2.0 is a 2.0 a zetec may have a little more bhp as std but the money spent on a zetec convertion if you spent that on a pinto it would exceed 130 bhp its your choice but is it worth the hassle if its only a toy not a daily

check the spark an check the fuel sounds like fuel starvation to me check your fuel lines are ok make sure your fuel tank breather is clear check the fuel pump is pumping the the carb filter isnt blocked an lastly check the carb try all the about before stripping the carb

good luck with the build but i wont be donating i have my own project that needs alot more than yours my advice is get your hands dirty its free you could repair most of that list with a haynes manual small tool kit an hours of joy laying underneath it in a puddle of oil failing that buy her a card an some flowers like most blokes do

i didnt think mk1 ignition barrels bolt to a metal clamp on the coloumn mk2 do mk1 have a aluminium half moon clamp that pinchs the coloumn between the two halfs

might try 105 speed im using a bias box with cable clutch so need a bit of space near the cable anyone got a pic of a 105 speed manifold in a escort deltamal that exhaust looks v nice what sort of bucks are they if you dont want to put it on the forum pm me if you like cheers jon

thinking about using throttlebodies on a yb do i need a dizzy with a sensor in it to tell where the engine if so what have people been using ie cossie, efi pinto etc etc if its to much headache i will just run dcoes but i have nearly all the bits to run them
