  1. without having the head off you wont know for sure unless you know who built the engine or have a receipt for unleaded valve seats
  2. the fabrication parts they sell are rix parts and are of the highest quality found on high spec group 4 cars that enter rallys like the rac an historic rally championship etc etc
  3. if your refering to the output shaft as the end then yes replacing it is a full strip down remove the lid have a look at the gears an selectors if there ok you can fit the prop on the box on an off a few times with w40 an it should clean the splines up if there not too far gone
  4. the starter motor hole should be in a differant place i have a type 9 one it differs from my x flow one
  5. if you set the 4 link kit up for sqat you wont need lader bars for drag it will also handle on the road too i found the pic on t/sport that retro motorsport uploaded

  7. just had a look at your resto if your brave enough you can modify the tail housing look up mg midgit type 9 they move the stick towards the bellhousing a few inchs not a simple fix tho
  8. could you not utalise something from a modern car like mondeo or volvo etc they are a cable setup
  9. put it back in the garage an drag it back out again when you can afford to fit a auto it costs nothing to keep it you might regret selling a nice lump

  13. i agree i thought a few years back it was 99% classic there is some serious plastic now but i just walk past most of the plastic was hiden up the back so the classic took pride of place , it makes the old skool more old an alot more cooler aslong as the majority is classic ford i wont moan personaly i find the best part of the show is the strip an jumble i thought a few years ago there was a seperate car park for general public with a classic ford an plastic parked in the big car park love the show cant grumble

  19. i belive all pinto waterpumps are the same the cossie one is bigger internally but will fit the same the only thing you might find is you can buy waterpumps that have or dont have a viscous fan as long as you order a 2.0 cam belt it will fit a 1.6 belt is differant

  22. ive got away with rubber hose for years too its quite a recent thing with pump fuel they are putting ethanol in the fuel they are upping the the amount of ethanol in pump fuel even more soon this eats normal rubber hose someone on here had a pic of a fuel line that was heavily perished because of this new fuel
  23. i had cibies on my escort took them off an thought it looked much better but its your car make it look how you prefer the good thing with escorts back in the day there was so many options an extras so theres no right or wrong way to mod a escort aslong as its period it will look great an still be worth good money the only bug bear is having to drill the front pannel if you change your mind your left with holes
