Sod all them lot! if you want a hot hatch the get a Renault Clio 1.8 16v! I had one of those for ages and it is by far the best car iv ever owned. Completely standard but looked/sounded and went nuts! Got a 15.2 up santa pod. Then got 135mph on the M1 on the way back Pretty good for a bog standard car! Happily went round any corner at any speed aswell

I was really quite dissapionted with the turnout. You would think that what with it being 'retro' there wouldbe thousands upon thousands of people there! I camped over and all of the campers only just about filled one field! What was there was really good tho!

The best bit for me was camping next to a Mk1 escort van with a turbo rover V8 on carbs! That was a thing to behold! Also his mate in the black Capri with the nicest sounding V8 iv ever heard!. Sitting there idling at about 500rpm through straight pipes. You know when you can literally hear each piston going up and down I'm not sure whether they are on here but kudos to you if you are! (the Escort van was red with a recovery company sign writing, cant remember the name though)

Got a little bit too drunk on Saturday night and im suprised that I managed to wake up in the morning on Sunday! Although i was on the oldskoolford stand I somehow managed to forget to take any pics of the stand (inculding my car!) Kudos to all that were involved in making the whole weekend as good as it was!

Iv been having thoughts about selling up at some point this year.. I know what iv spent on my car over the years (ish.. lol) but how do work out what it is worth in the end? My car is a MK5 Cortina 1982 Registered as a 1.6 GL Has an Ashton Mobile built pinto in it. 205 block Kent FR33 cam Twin 45 Dellortos port matched to the head 4 Branch Ashley exhaust manifold heat wrapped Full Ashley system with center box taken out T9 5 speed box with quickshift Brand new 2 piece prop Standard 1.6 Koln Back axle just lightly reconditioned Standard rear drums just reconditioned Reconditioned front calipers with drilled and grooved discs and greenstuff pads Full polybushed front and back Burton 2" lowering springs front and back (back has an extra coil cut out) Fully adjustable shocks front and back Resprayed on the outside in focus ST orange (just without the slight metal flake) Still red inside the boot and inside the car Under-bonnet hand painted in satin black Fully under-sealed Car has its bad points as they all do but all in all a good car Would be sold with a full MOT and tax when i do finally think of selling it. It wont be until after this show season at any rate coz I wanna go to all the shows in it. Running 138bhp last year at CF show Ran a 16.2 if i remember right? Hi there! I shall soon be selling my ashton mobile Pinto engine as i am venturing into the unknown and doing another engine conversion I preferably would like to sell it as a whole set up as i wont need any of it to do the conversion. The engine will be coming out of my MK5 Cortina. The set-up includes. Engine- 205 Block Unleaded head FR33 Fast road Kent cam Injection pistons Lightly skimmed Head Painted blue Breather tank and pipes Lightened flywheel New clutch when built Clear dizzy cap! My favourite bit! Induction- Twin 45 Dellortos, with inlet manifold, port matched to the head Exhaust- Heat wrapped Ashley 4 branch manifold I also have the rest of the ashley exhaust up for sale aswell, I had the middle silencer removed and replaced with a straight pipe but still has the standard Ashley back box on it Gearbox- Type 9 5speed Quickshift gear lever Painted blue I got it set up and dyno'd the day before CFS last year at Northhampton Motorsport and it put out 136 bhp. I still have all the readouts I think thats it covered... I have spoken to Colin of team Ashton and he said it is ok for people to contact him also if they want to ask about the engine Cheers Mate! The engine is still in the car and still working so if a video is needed then i dont mind, also if you are wanting to come and view it before it is removed then be quick as it is coming out in the next 2 weeks or so! I recon iv only done 1500 miles in it since it was built for me so its got plenty of life left in her! The car and engine are situated in Leicester and i would like £2000 for the whole setup. I went out in the mk5 yesterday! Was fun on the back roads Even funnier when i gently slide sideways round a corner past a man standing next to his 57 plate volvo firmly wedged in the ditch. He's probably got ABS and traction control and i just have pinto power to the back wheels!
