Just interested to see how many of you out there just browse the site but never post (for whatever reason). If you could just add your name to the list here (you do not need to post ever again if you don't want to) or just click the box on the poll and remain anonymous - Thanks in advance

All you need to do is click on the View Results button (or is that only Admin that can see that button :? ).

I'm interested in knowing how many of the 6000 members have signed up and never been back, is there any way of telling if a user ID is effectively redundant as it's never used?

i know i dont post very much, but i think i have a fairly good excuse.ive been a member on here for nearly 2 years fully intending to get involved with likeminded enthusiasts, but then decided to get married(after 16 years, rushing in a bit i know) so i am laying gas mains during the day and driving a taxi 5 nights a week, so that leaves 2 eves to catch up . still all done in july, and i didnt have to sell my osf

You can do it using the memberlist (way up there ^^^^^^^^^^).

You can order the list by the the total number of posts each member has made. ascending and descending.

But that doesn't differentiate between those that sign in but never post and those that simply never sign in and are effectively redundant users.

in some ways i think the site needs a clearout of redundant users.

another forum im on did this a while back and it freed up a lot. yes there wernt as many registered users and as many people having bdays on the calender but it cleared out the crap!

I see what you mean. The silent majority so to speak.

Well...when the membership fee comes into place it'll be interesting to see how many of the "not so regular posters" pay it.

I'll have no problem paying that and it will leave the site safer with less "uneducated" people asking stupid questions, but it does kinda go against the spirit of OSF. :?

I don't believe there's such a thing as a stupid question, if you don't know the answer then it isn't stupid to ask. It is however stupid to blindly rush ahead with something because you don't want to ask what you think is a stupid question.

I'll answer anything me, people have to start somewhere after all don't they?

must admit i agree with vista, when i first got back into the osf scene i was constantly asking silly questions and without getting the answers from fellow members i would of probably made mistakes and even may of given up

thanks to this site and the OSF family i have learnt a lot and despite not bein the sharpest chisel in the drawer i will always try to share what i have learnt :ykt::thumbsup:

I'm not a non poster, but I'm not a regular poster really either.

I'm on the site every day, but don't have much to say.

Which part do I come under?
