antz Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 ok guys...i need your advice.. i know a guy who owns a mk2 escort 2 door. base model. he has had it for about 5 years and for all of them 5 years its been sat on axle stands as a bare shell. 2 years ago it was knocked off its stands by a caravan and all the bottom of the rear panel is a bit rippled. (its a bit crusty too) i think its got most parts to it inside the car and its had new wings on but never painted so they are covered in surface rust. im not sure weather to go round and see the guy and make him an offer on it....the thing is i heard from my auntie (who is mates with him) that he turned down an offer of £1500 from a rally boy 3 years ago! i wanna make him an offer but i fear he wants silly money money for it. i need your advice on what you would do..and how much you would offer!? HELP!!!
mk2 stu Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 mate its simple, go in there with cash, maybe a grand, put it in his hand and tell him it aint worth his while to barter, drag the shell out of there and dont feel bad about it! If he want more than that hes a fool ,aint worth nothing rotting away on the floor, should go to someone like yourself and get it restored!

He can only say no, dont be afraid of getting turned down, just remember it aint worth nothing to him sitting there, Make him think hes better off without it cluttering up his yard!
