:) i like black not the worst paint ive ever seen i sold a 2.0ghir nice one and the man painted it blue with a paint-brush so if you had of done duke boy slinding on it you would have stuck to the bonnet, may i ask if useing spay cans or small compressur (p.s i cant spell even on a good-day  ) as if your useing small compressur try to do 1 panel at a time with top loading gun as this is how i spay motors and they turn out fine. i think what matters is you have a go at every-thing because its all about learning as you go along and if you dont try u dont no its nothing that you cant rub down and start again if your not happy :wink:

guys it may have looked tidy before but only from a distance .....

the bottoms of the doors are rusty as sin the sills are rusty on the bakc corners the frotn and back of the car under the bumper level had been painted with a brush (silver admitedly but with a fookin brush) there was soo much surface rust all over the joins on the front valance

there were little rust bubbles on the wings

front edge of the bonnet is starting to go etc etc etc

its not gonna stay this colour forever and it will get treated to a proper resto when i can afford to run two cars so i can take it off the road and do it properly and save up for a decent sprayjob

at the end of the day ive always wanted a matt/satin black car and so i decided to paint mine ....

my thinking behind it is this as i replace the fooked bodypanels (rear lower corners , driver and passenger door, bonnet , tailgate ) i can now just spray them with rattle can satin black and ittl match all over as apposed to spending a few hundred quid getting them matched each time .... to the faded silver so that when it comes round to the full respray ill have a uniform colour to start from if tht makes any sense

 yeh i see ware you are coming from cause can be a night-mare matching stuff even on a new car, but when some thing is all 1 colour i think it looks resptable to the old filf so they not always on your case, and i no what you mean about haveing more than 1 car to look after ive got about 10 olb bangers at the moment but i buy and sell, the rims on the back of your car are they deep dish if so would you be intresstered is swap for a pair of skinnys or a set of pettle pots with yokoharma tyres or set of rs sevens as looking for a pair of deep dish to make up a set :D:)

this is the way my capri is going.... not sure about the satin black on a mk1 but its going to get shitty touch ups untill the body is sound.
