V8ian Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 At a toy fair, on one stall were a couple of New Mk1 Zodiac bits [When I had my Zodiac], how much, eventually he told me there were a few more bits on the van and he wanted £100 for the lot,which included 5 new steering boxes for a Mk2zz, There was so much stuff I had to make 3 runs home with it, all for Mk1/2/3 Zodiacs and consuls, , 3 weeks later I had sold the lot at a couple of autojumbles,-------£1700 and this was 20 years ago Or 4 sets of Koni style adjustable spring lock rings and tops for springs, 50p per Item, £6.00 all made in TITANIUM, and a Mk1 Cortina Column mounted GT rev counter for £2, off the same fella. I was given a Mk1 capri Atlas, Full rebuild, new bearings, gears, brakes. the lot. and from the same man, who had abandoned his Pop build, a Ford 8" axle with new 4.11 gears for £25, BTW I still have both The axle thats on my Cortina, Toyota Celica LSD, tough as they come, another gift Pair of Porsche Bembros, [on the cortina], from a breakers,------£20, what a nice man I suppose this should be tempered with the piles of crap I have also bought oner the years
awesome Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 I bought a Anglia for 200 squid with a brand new safety devices full roll cage still in the wrapper changed the bonnet with mine as it was mint my mate fetched the car for the log book sold a few bit off the car for 50 odd notes then sold the shell for £200 to a chap in Ireland so cage would have cost me 350.00 bonnet worth about 80.00 parts sold 50.00 nice saving of £ 480.00

Basically a really nice car re-sprayed in metallic blue. Trouble was the owner didnt check under the carpets before forking out for a respray and they were nearly non existant!! It also had a badly fillered over sunroof that was cracking and flaking. My dad got it for my 19th b'day for £150!!! The guy selling it just wanted some money for his weed habit!! God i hate stoners.

Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 i got a complete mk1 cortina for £350, this included a re built cross flow lump re built 2000e box new hub caps for a mk1 corty set of 6j steels with brand new tyres re chromed bumpers door handles and bonnet bezel new lights add on anti roll bar corbeau seats gt gauges new quarter bumpers and brackets witch wer new aswell set of new gt cortina dials all the rubber grommets for the car etc set of mexico steels set of new lotus twin cam pistons cortina gt centre console strut brace gt handbrake new window rubbers lotus brake servo gt remote gear change the list goes on:):)

Alan G Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 I got a pair of BRAND NEW weber 45's with linkages & a Xflow manifold for €480, sold the Xflow manifold for €100 so do the maths (and don't forget to carry the one ) €380, which is £250 your money!

H.P.E harry Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 My dad got his 1973 mk1 escort for about £500. Absolutely mint inside and out, MOT + tax and only 24,000 miles on the clock. Then bought and fitted my Grandads old engine (2.2 pinto) with running gear for cheap too.
