Posse
As you all well no there's been a lot of talk about doing this for a while to try and get some money in to pay for the running of the site which is not cheap. The cost will be £12 a year . But i would like some feed back on what rooms etc we should make only viewable to OSF Contributor's thanks darren

Vista
The temptation is to say technical rooms as they'd provide an incentive for others to join. But on the other hand I was against this when another forum I used did something similar as I'm happy to supply an information I have for free anyway. So how about: - Adult room Meets Shows/Events Show stands OSDC ASK THE FUZZ Old Skool Chat Classifieds
Mk2Jo
Steve ... you will still be able to access most of the site but you may not be able to post in some of the rooms. This is not to try and exclude people but to give something to people who are able to contribute and pay towards the cost of the site. At the end of the day, you all have access to a fantastic site for free at the moment ..... we know we will not be able to please everyone with this but if we don't do it ...... there will be no site at all £12 is only £1.00 per month .... I'm sure you spend more than that every week on mags, bottles of coke, sweets ... other things
Slik 50
I think £12 is a fair price. TBH I dont care what rooms you make accseable or not as I will be paying But I do think the tech sections sould be limited, I can understand what Scott is saying but from the flipside of coin the contibuters need to feel they are getting something back. If that makes sense Deffo the classifieds Tech rooms adult room OSF Chat Photoshop ect You need to keep a good balance as there are a few forums that I have been on that I cant get passed the first page as im not a member! So there aint noway I am going to join a site (free or not) if I cant see what I am going to get. Do's any of that make sense

Mk2Jo
Dont buy sweets - u could do a kiddies rate at £6 If you are old enough to use the same rooms as everyone else then the cost to be a contributor is the same too ..... £1.00 a month (25p per week) is nothing

MK5
great idea especially when you compare it to the cost of Retro Ford (or similar) OSFDC Adult Classifieds ASK THE FUZZ Old Skool Chat in support of the younger members of the site who may feel they are missing out if they can't pay - how about the under 18's forum (with free access obviously) protected in the same way that the Adult Room is so that you don't get everyone posting in there.. not sure about the technical stuff... part of me says yes, but part of me thinks no, keep it free... will we get a sticker (or something) to display to show we are paying "contributors"? how will you accept payment? cheque? PayPal? etc
S2 Dee
I'll gladly pay, not sure what rooms should be viewable or allowed to post in by members only. As for the younger members and costs what about a family rate? May encourage more than one family member to bcome fully paid.
bomber1
ill pay. posse uve sacrificedv a lot to get this site where it is. tbh £12 is less than a round of drinks down the pub. with over 6000 members it should be standing on it own with enough cash in the bank to cover the tecnical side as well buying its own mechndise to sell on. if u cant see it b4 u login u shouldnt see it b4 u pay up if u see what i mean ok numbers may drop by a few but the club has to stand on its own. ok now ill go n hide
Burns
dunno about you lot, but i don't think osf chat should be subscribed, it'd put new members right off if they couldn't get in there
Gilli
I think thats fair enough, and as has been said already you've sacficed alot to get it this far, its the next enevitable step. I'd say the numbers mite drop a bit but the true Old Skool folks that have the interest will still be round and surely thats the type of people you want on the site?? jimbo
I think that this is totally outragous. Why should we have to pay when Darren obviously has bottomless pockets..... In reponse to this I've set up a new site which is free to everyone. I've even kept costs down by hosting it on my own web space. http://www.potterirwin.plus.com/ Enjoy Jim
bomber1
dunno about you lot, but i don't think osf chat should be subscribed, it'd put new members right off if they couldn't get in there u had to become a member b4 u saw what was going on in there didnt u!? posse has a young family it shouldnt be down to him to keep the site going on his own. a lot of people make money off the back off this site so its only fair we make a small donation each year. johnny_h
How about, you keep all rooms available to anyone. The amount of money I have saved myself from the help and advise of other members of this forum is worth paying £12 for every month, let alone every year! I think the people that count and the real supporters will pay regardless. To start denying rooms to non payers is a bit offputting. I know you have to get funds together but why not just see who actually pays up before excluding people. http://www.potterirwin.plus.com/ <<< I can't find the signup page

Perhaps some more marketing tie-ins for paid up members as well. Discounts on parts, repairs, breakdown, tickets etc. The 15% Adrian Flux discount should save a paid up member at least their £12 a year. Jim We're just discussing discounts on merch plus other none website realated benefits in the staff room. So, ignoring the website for the minute, what would you like? These are ideas bouncing around. Free OSF sticker Discount on merch/products First dibs on OSF organised events Awards/Trophys for OSF contributors. jimbo
They are some good ideas......especially as I need new OSF sticker If more stuff like the Adrian Flux tie can be arranged, that'll really attract people. I suppose anything like that requires a bit of negotiation and banner ads etc. First dibs on events would be nice. Mk2Jo
Don't forget ..... it's only £12.00 per year ... that's £1.00 pound per month ..... 25 pence per week ...... 0.0357142 pence per day ..... it will not be compulsory at all and we don't want to exclude anyone but access to the site and all the information it can provide you (as well as a social life for some ) is already a lot for free We will try to negotiate extra discounts and some form of sticker/keyring or other but we don't want the much needed funds to go towards gold trinkets leaving nothing left for the running of our site ... Remember, we all benfefit from this site .... please don't ask for blood too And ..... pleeeeeeze don't be offended by what I have just said Now .... any other ideas boys and girls
