:D just had to let you all know that on Sat eve at 9.45 my step dad and i got my GT to finally fire up after FIVE long years into her full on resto! After sorting out the timing & setting up the tappets ,as the engine was seen to by a mate of mine(MK1 DELUXE)new gaskets, core plugs etc,we connected the battery and after a few tweaks she burst into life and sounded fecking AWESOME on just the 4 branch manifold  I've never driven the GT since the day i bought her 5 years ago and we don't think she's had an engine in her that has run since 1996 ! I've just got the brakes to overhaul & the wiring is being sorted this weekend by a friend of mine from the MK 1 CORTINA owners club who i must give a lot of thanks for 4 welding her up and spraying her black cherry, the best decision i ever made!,although Kev would'nt say so cos he hated the colour(never mind a !!) Hopefully wont be long before i'm cruising along in her to all the OLD SCHOOL FORDS meets down Ashford Diner and shows up and down the country as i've been dreaming about this since we trailered her sorry broken ass back to Maidstone from Norfolk all those years ago!!! Hopefully get to meet some of the Sarf East lot soon and make more ANORAK friends along the way.C u all soon

Nice one mate

Theres nothing stopping you getting to a meet now you know  A few of us will be meeting up for the Medway Meet (Meets Section) if you are interested!

Nowt wrong with Black Cherry either, my dad's old 123e Anglia Super was Black Cherry & Purbeck Grey... really nice colours. Mine on the other hand is imperial maroon

It is also amazing just how quick the other jobs get sorted after getting it to fire into life :D

Hello Bruv  , I am soooo chuffed for you now that it finally looks like things are coming together for you, I have seen the car from day one, when we went up to go and get it and I tried to talk you out of buying it as it was so rotten. It really was pretty bad, and things didn't get much better when we found out that the floor was mostly made from chipboard  . Once we had cut the weeds away that were growing through the floorpan, things looked pretty bad.

Still after years of hard graft and a budget that was so small it would make most people give up, its finally all coming together.

Honestly if most of you lot are still reading this and are thinking about jacking in your long term project coz of lack of funds then speak to this man here, he has had to support his wife, 2 kids, have a full time job doing hard graft, plus earn extra pennies doing more work on a Saturday then have to go to hospital for a hernia op as well as doing all of this on a very limited budget. I am so proud of what you have done with all that you have had to put up with (no garage, no rear access, so having to hump everything through the house), whilst all the time having most of the family telling you to jack it in and sell it and then the neighbour from hell as well as all the kids on the estate bouncing balls of the back of the car!!

I look forward to a Summer of Cruising with the anglebox and the 'tina, its gonna be a retro year, just like the old days, with the cars out the front and the stereo's on cleaning them up, feels like we will be teenagers again, just have a few more kids hanging around though. Don't suppose Mum will make us the brews though will she??

Here are a few piccies of the Tina, they have been posted before, but it gives you some idea of where he has got up to, I will get some more taken and then post them up as me Bro has a few computer problems
