Twinkle Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 how about seeing if someone will take you on for a day a week for free to get some experience, show them how hard you work and they may see they cant be without you and offer you paid work
Osgood Isgood Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 Well don't give up matey! Keep knocking on doors and one will open.....and ring back those that haven't returned your calls as well. You can't always rely on the Doris that answers the phone to pass the message on. Twinkles idea is a good one....especially if you target the smaller independant garages, where you can talk direct to the bloke who owns it! Also you may make contacts throught he college course! Keep smiling nipper, if you want something enough, you will get it !
antz Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 dude i know how u feel. it took me a year to get my job! i wrote 100 letters a month and kept on at every place that had ana ccountants office i could find! just keep on with the letters, going round, checking papaers and it might help if you take the escort round cos itll show your high standards

Osgood Isgood Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 Your motor is easily worth 100pages of a CV. Keeping 'em crossed for you matey!
sab6024 Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 Wishing you luck My brother had the same problem when he finished his apprenticeship. The garage he was at wouldn't start paying him a proper wage so he started looking elsewhere for work. It took him ages to get into a proper garage but now he's happy where he is. At least your keen, that should work for you. Not many younger people wanna work at all

Jarrodm Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 3 pound 10 ? How old are you ? Thats less than the minimum wage (if you work more than 8 hours a week !!!!) Thats a bit of a joke ? I get 7 for fixing bikes ! Kick there asses for more money............. I bet they pay a cleaner more than that ! You'll never get rich mechanicin' but if it's what you love then you gotta start somewhere ! Jarrod
steve mk2 Posted July 3, 2007 Author Report Posted July 3, 2007 its £3.10 because the give you honda overals honda uniform and steel toe boots and tools and they pay like 7 grand for youre education for 3 years
FlashCadillac Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 mate... your still entitled to miniumum wage... the only exception is the first year of an apprentacship(sp) where they can pay you a minimum of £80 per week.... ...make sure you are getting it, them training you up is to their benifit aswell as yours!
