the 3000M had an essex in it, AFAIK they are exactly the same as the stock ford ones, although some 3000Ms had a triumph o/d gearbox rather than the ford one.

The Wedge was the one fitted with the 2.8 and the M series was the 3.0, I think they were both stock engines, unless you happen to stumble upon a 3,0 Turbo from the 3000M turbo

Didnt the Essex V6 make a good turbo lump as it was designed as Diesel engine so can take higher cylinder presures and the big ends are large to take the extra forces ..

Mmmmmm. Sounds tasty :P

ah forgot the 3000 turbo, i went to buy a 3000M once by the time i got the cash out the bloke had sold it for 300 quid less than i was going to pay as he didnt think i was coming back, even though I explained i had to go to work and would come back in the eve :banghead:

Not 100% sure, but was the twin throttle body only on the 2.9 so it could be out of a later car than the wedge. and its origins are now GRANADA, not even capri.

Didn't Janspeed or someone do a twin turbo essex v6? I remember seeing a pair of intercoolers on fleabay a few years back

if its got a colongne block its Capri/Granada/Cortina/Sierra/TVR/GArtrac G6/ some Transits/ various boats etc

If its an Essex block its Capri/ Granada/Superspeeds/Transits/boats/TVR's/Scimiters/ and countless 60's kitcars

the ancilleries may be slightly different but as its complete it dont matter

Pretty much all the 2.8 cologne and 3.0 essex will all be the same with maybe a few minor differences (not counting turbos of course). What a few people do is swap the 2.8 for the 2.9 cosworth, makes sense to me
