Obviously you can see that im new to the site because the post count to the left and i have only been to one osf meet but i was wondering what sought power you lot were getting out of these old fords? I have seen Andy Harris's pinto powered mk1 go and was shocked at how quick it actually was, what bhp is that? Who else is running quick ford engines e.g pushrods, pintos, cossie's etc?

This is a room to discuss entries to the OSFDC which Andy has decided not to enter this year. However, there are lots of other quick motors running in the OSFDC which I'm sure people would love to tell you about  If you read through all the OSFDC rooms then I think you'll get the idea of what this championship is all about and those people that have entered

Hello M8, i will tell you what you want to know, even though "Andy Harris" isn`t in the OSFDC..!!

The engine in Andy`s Mk1 escort is a 2.2- 233bhp Pinto, which has been meticulously put together with all the right bits, coupled together with all the right bits to complement it to the rear wheels, as well as the main ingredient, the driver, who insidently weighs about 23 odd stone, so obviously he has lightened the car to compensate for him being a heavy old boy..!!

Also it is a HPE thoroughbred, :P as well as no nitrous..

There are quiet a lot of quick cars out there which are non "HPE" which i put my hands together & applaud them. But being as you asked the question about "ANDY`S" car i thought i would reply, as i am a member Myself..

If there is any more info you require why not drop me a PM, i`ll be glad to help..

Jeff, the post may have been about Andy's car but it was in the OSFDC room which Andy isn't in so I have moved it over to Old Skool Chat which is a better room

It's no trouble - we just like to keep things in the right rooms if we can so that people who are looking for certain topics know where to look

And I don't know anything about Andy's phenomanally fast car, just that there are others in the championship putting good times down

Couldn`t agree more, I`m always one of the first to put my hand out to acknowledge anybody`s achievements :Bravo: & not just the guys using "HPE" engines.

So i agree there are some guys & girls that are putting down some great times & results.

Silly me Jo i read the thread & didn`t realise what you had said, appologies..:wink::thumbsup:

I don't know what car you mean but a normal 1100/1300 model escort with a standard 2 litre pinto fitted will run in the 16's at the pod provided it's not got 17 inch chrome spinning wheels and a boot full of bass boxes fitted !!!!!!!
